GTS ordered

So it looks like your car was scheduled for build on the 24th Sept but is now going into build on the 8th Oct. Once the build is complete (CP8) the dealership should be able to predict when it will arrive with them. Give them a week to PDI and you'll have your baby. The only sticking point is when it arrives in the ports of Emden and Sheerness. The former due to when a boat comes into dock and the latter on vehicle logistics from Sheerness to your dealership. A point to note is that they won't put your car on an 8 car transporter unless they have other cars going to your dealership or others close by.

Personally I'd wait until the 8th and ask for another update.

Thanks, the dealership seem pretty confident that CP8 will be 12th Oct and I was told to ignore these dates. Realisitcally I'm expecting the car mid Novemeber. Any earlier will be a bonus.

Test driving a 4.0 next Saturday, have it for the day. Should be fun. Unfortunately PDK but otherwise a similar spec to mine.

Update, just had a call from OPC, car is leaving the factory 11th Oct, almost complete. Aiming to take delivery last week in October. First time in the 4.0 this weekend, hoping it lives up to my expectations.

So, borrowed this yesterday, first time in the 4.0. Only downside for me (apologies to pdk owners) was the pdk. Definitely personal preference but manual is the only transmisson for me. Car was fantastic to use, had it for the day so managed to fit in a spot of lunch as well as stretching the car's legs. Looking forward to picking mine up in a few weeks.

Each to their own on the gearbox selection ...having driven both in Boxster form PDK every time so much quicker and one less thing to concentrate on .If I change to any other model still would be PDK ...Surprised they do not offer a different style seat in the GTS instead of the standard 18 way DFS chairs.[;)]

Along with the 14-way Sport seat, the Full Bucket seat is also an option Brian. The 2-way Sport seat is standard.

I’m with Jase on the transmission, but I fear that we’re a dying breed. [;)] And PDK effectively ties you into an extended warranty for peace of mind for longer term ownership too.

Dylan, it does tick every box to be fair. My wife also drove the car and she was impressed and she isn't a huge fan of driving :) The sound was impressive, it does everything my 911 does but much better with two seats which isn't a problem. The car was fitted with 2 way seats which were comfortable enough (I have 14 way in my 911 and used these just once), easy to get into the right driving position and very comfortable. Road noise was fine with the 20" wheels, the pdk box did what it said on the tin but as you know I am not a fan of this and this was my only disappointment as both cars I have test driven have been pdk. As the car will be a daily I just wanted to put it through its paces e.g school run (or in this case on a Saturday - hairdressers :) ), although this was preceded by a quick blast down the M4 where we were caught up by a stunning yellow GT4 and then onto lunch, easy to park and to just drive around the local town. Then out for some lane work, blistering performance, you will not be disappointed. Picked a friend up on the way back from the garage and he has just placed an order for one so we are already looking at booking in a few track days and trips to Europe. Exciting times ahead for owners of this car.

I know what you mean Brian. I’m sure that more than 95% of drivers would be more than comfortable with the standard 2-way Sport seat. I reckon that the 14-way Sport seat is all very well but if you’re the only driver once you’ve found a comfortable setting that’s it! An unnecessary expense?

When I was at the Silverstone Centre a few weeks ago there was an F-4T Cayman GTS in the showroom which had the Bucket seats; a rare example I suspect.

Had a call to say my pickup date will be 5th Nov (or a week earlier). Not sure how long the process takes but the car left the factory on the 11th. Time to order some zunnsport grills etc.

Personally wouldn't bother. They'll probably just say "no". Easy to take off if you have to go anywhere near an OPC.

My OPC were completely happy with my having the Zunsport grilles fitted. They even suggested that I had them fitted to my previous car, which was under extended warranty where the conditions are more stringent and restrictive. They even apologised that they weren't allowed to fit them themselves.

I used a 718 Boxster S with 14 way sports seatsfor 700 miles last weekend whilst my GTS4.0, which has standard Sports Plus seats was indisposed.

I found the 14 way seats considerably less comfortable and a lot less supportive than my Sports Plus seats. The 14 ways are flatter, wider and more padded, much more of a saloon car seat than one which belongs in a sports car. The electric adjustment was annoying as its easy to know the button by mistake. The only reason to get the 14 ways would be is you are very large and wide. I'm not exactly slender and the Sports Plus are perfect for me. I slid around in the 14 ways.

If you have to have electric seats for what ever reason the the 18 ways are the ones to go for as they are the powered version of the Sports Plus seats which are superior to Sport seat. Bear in mind that as well as being a lot heavier, they also sit 50mm higher than the non-powered seat.

Just bought a new reg plate as some motivation to keep saving for my GTS
