Jase those bottom grills look like they will be sat on the paintwork? If so this will cause marring and damage overtime.

The grills look really good. I have had them on my 987.2 + 981 and found the fit really good. Got confirmation on Friday that I have a January allocation.

I think the blue tape makes it look worse, they sit on the black plastic beneath. Already pulled out leaves from the intakes and the car has only done 50 miles.

Next job is to fit this following the directions on the other thread and to link it to the power socket in the passenger foot well.

That's good to know, I'm still undecided which ones to get, Zunsport or those from across the pond from RGS.

I've not used or seen the others but the Zunsport ones with the discount are fantastic. It feels a bitter pill to swallow to pay out on them but when you actually fit and feel the quality you will be glad. Just don't forget to mask up the bottom ones.

Has anyone activated the tracker as supplied by Porsche when they picked up their car? Part of me thinks I really don't want the car back if it is stolen. It isn't a requirement on my insurance.

I haven’t on my current Cayman for 3 reasons

1. It wasn’t a requirement for my insurance

2. If I turned it on it only reduced my insurance by £20 a year. 3. The subscription is about £230 a year so not worth it for a £20 a year discount.

I feel however, it may be a requirement on my next one due to its value. Who’s your insurance with?

Dan.

I didn't bother as my insurance did not require a tracker. I did subscribe to the Porsche connect app with Vodaphone free for the first year which can locate your car along with other useful features. I have just paid to renew it for another year which I think was £99

Just an update, disappointingly I have covered a grand total of 202 miles so far, all smiles but given the weather and working from home the opportunity to use the car just hasn't been there :( Other than that the car is amazing just need to break her in now.

There's always a reason to use it.

Need more milk

Need loo roll

Need to blow out the cobwebs from that hard day working from home

Need to collect a take out (ER NO!!!!)[:D]

Dan

I have a question and i know the anser is not to slow down :) but has anyone else noticed that if you are driving steadily at 30 or 40mph it feels like there is an 'electrical or mechanical' switch or judder? Having watched a few reviews I'm assuming it is just a bank of cylinders closing down for economy?

Yes Jase, there’s adaptive cylinder control in operation:

A special innovation to reduce exhaust emissions and fuel consumption is the adaptive cylinder control. At engine speeds of between 1,600 and 3,000 rpm and a load request of up to a maximum torque of 100 Nm, it temporarily interrupts the injection process of one of the two engine banks, and the six-cylinder engine temporarily operates in three-cylinder mode. At constant load, the cylinder bank is changed every 20 seconds to ensure a uniform load and flow through the catalytic converters. With the exception of a slightly different sound profile, this switching back and forth goes unnoticed by the driver. The effect, however, is palpable: the adaptive cylinder control can reduce the CO₂ emissions by around 11 grams per kilometre. It can be deactivated together with the start/stop function, which is featured for the first time in the 718 Cayman GT4 and 718 Spyder.

So is this normal? Loving the car more than the 911 but considering a GT4 if I can secure a build slot. The GTS is amazing but would like something a bit more raw but still for daily use.
