Wheel Shims

I run 993 8 j wheels et 30 on th back of my s2, the matching fornts (from a 993 carrear 4 s) were 7 j et 55. backs stick out mroe than the fronts so I am looking to space the fornts out for looks a bit, and aim for 6 mil spacers, which I am hoping will work ok with the original studs.
As a rule of thumb, with steel botls and studs, you shoul have a minimum of 8 full turns of the whels bolts / nuts, before they begin to pinch up. with the ally porker nuts, it may be better to have bit more, but 8 terms is what the wheel manufacturers told me then I was after some trci offsets for my golf.

Porscheshop may be the cheapest for shims has anyone bought some from them? any comments on quality?
I bought some 5mm from them a few years ago when I thought I needed them for some Boxster wheels I didn't buy [8|]
Certainly looked fine to me, but I never used them and just sent them back

I run7mm shims on the front and no complaints so far (didn't increase any tramlining or bump reaction as I feared either).
Car has been at the indy several times for front disc warranty replacements, and he hasn't raised any alarm at the shims either.

They are much cheaper than the alloy road nuts and as they are open ended you can see how much thread you are covering.

Perhaps I will compromise at 4mm [8|]
Size isn't everything (unless we are talking about engines [

I comprimised on 5mm and went for the slightly more expensive option from type 911 who assure me they are better quality than the cheaper ones (but then they would wouldn't they)
Tony
Sounds like the best approach.
At least with Type 911 you might get better quality as opposed to just more expensive.
