New Year Gathering - Now 4th March, all welcome

I will aim for 10am at Peterbough services, my route from Colchester will be A120, M11, A1 Looking forawrd to this, just hope the white stuff stays away!!!

Satnav says 1 1/4 hours from South Mimms to Peterborough services. I guess if we leave at 8:45 we can meet the more northern lot there before going on? I'll probably get to South Mimms in time for breakfast first, as it's a long time until lunch! :p My number's O7971 83278O

As I said I'll hope to be there 15.15 ish. I know the area pretty well and my phone is fully hands free in the car if anybody has problems etc and the no is 07811 944 953. Looking forward to it too!

Mike, 15.15ish?...........your sausages will be cold!!

So just to check if everyone is ok with the plan for the peterborough stop-off and convoy... Meet at the far side of the car park at peterborough services at about 10 ish. Then up the A1 and a slight detour to pick up andy from stamford. Then the swollen convoy can desend on the peaceful town of rutland. I'm looking forward to this![:)]

If the soft Southerners haven't got to you by the time you leave, give me a ring and I'll let you know if we are too far behind due to late-comers. Or me not finishing my breakfast yet. [:)]

So where exactly at south mimms is the meet and what hour ?
Need to leave at 8:45 to get to Peterborough for 10:00, so any time before that. As to where, drive in to the car park and look for a 944, or several 944s! If you're lost give me a call. [:)]

Will be aiming to be there for then but if we are late go on without us !

I might be in danger of looking a bit too organised...but here we go. For anyone who is meeting at Peterborough services: The post code for sat navs is PE7 3UQ. Exit Junction 17 onto the slip road...then take the first exit off the sliproad. First exit off the next two roundabouts will get you to the services.

Hairyarse pick-up: The post code for sat navs is PE9 3NS I'll be taking a 5 minute detour off the A1 to pick up Andy and Dan. We can pick them up at the Exeter Arms. I think it'll be good to terrorise the small town of Easton on the Hill [:)]. Besides, any opportunity for a photo of lots of 944s infront of a picturesque pub is not to be missed. [;)] Exit sign-posted for "Easton on the Hill ". Follow the road then at the end take a left. The pub is 100 yards down on the left. We'll take the A43 out back onto the A1 I guess.

Will do. I'm finding this whole north/south thing quite amusing. My girlfriend refers to round here as 'the south'...but she's a proper northerner from Liverpool. Of course, as an ex Brummie I have the correct view on these things. Rutland is most definitely in the midlands. [;)]

Everything outside of the area bounded by the M25 is technically "up North" regardless of actual geographic reality. (n.b. this supersedes the earlier, now outdated, "north of the Watford Gap" definition).

I have edited for accuracy

Unfortunately I won't make it 'UP' to Rutland as it's 321.7 miles South for me, and would take 5hr59mins to get there according to AA route planner. Alan.

hmmm... anyone else seen the weather forecast? bit worried about rear wheel drive + snow and ice + salt + 22 year old galvanising. also I've not got round to fixing my heater yet... [] i do hope it brightens up!!
