Blimey Jimmy - now look what you've done! Joking aside Simon, it looks absolutely fantastic. Great colour which really does suit the car despite all our 'ribbing'. I love the wheels. Stylish photos thank you.

As the man said, stop messing about with the photos and get out and drive it. How many miles have you done now?!.....and how many times have you washed it?!

Have driven over 200 miles so far. Next weekend, I'll be putting over 400 miles on it!

Haven't washed it yet. Planned to do so today, but there was no break in the rain.

Thinking of driving over to Porsches on the Prom next month.

Glad you managed to upload the pic's in the end Simon, they were worth the wait... I've just spent my lunch time drooling over them...! :ROFLMAO:

Great colour choice & spec, particularly like the gear knob shot, makes a refreshing change in the sea of flappy paddles these days.

This is definitely on my 'must have one day' list :p

Hi John. Yep, I bought it for my 991.1 C2. It then switched to my Panamera 4, but now looks more fitting on my Carrera T. [;)]

Cheers, Fudgie! Glad you like the pics! [:)] Yep, I'm gradually re-learning the art of manual gear changeS, with a clutch, after two years driving PDKs! [;)]

Am loving the more 'involved' method of driving and changing gear etc!

 
Ah, the general demise of the manual box saddens me, I love the manual box in my 718, its a delight to use and the pedal spacing plus throttle response in sports mode is perfect for heel n toe blipping! At least (for the timing being) Porsche still offers the manual option although a quick look on PH classifieds shows the stark reality, 51 Cayman 718's for sell and only 4 are manuals! Obviously PDK appeals to the wider audience and I too have appreciated its clinical brilliants and ease of use, but every time I jump back into my car after using a PDK loaner I'm immediately reminded why I chose it, for pure driving pleasure.

 
I do agree with the sentiment of "Pure driving" with a Manuel [sic], I think the debate is somewhat overdone. It really depends on what you're going to use the car for. For my part, much as I love three pedals for heel-toe chicanery and such like, I tend to lean towards modern double clutch transmissions for two main reasons.

1) If you're ever likely to be stuck in traffic, use the car extensively "around town" etc, a nice, sensible auto mode is a no-brainer. Granted the new 991 manuals clutch isn't as brutal as my old G-model, but it's still a hassle for an old geezer

2) When I do get a clip on (on private closed roads and tracks, natch) the PDK never lets me down whereas my feet and hands have been known to. Nothing drives me more crazy than a missed gear and the associated faffing about. Also, you get to do the magical "right foot gas, left foot brake" like wot the pro's do. (Once you've picked your teeth out of the steering wheel a few times, it comes quite quickly)

 
I'm probably spoilt by my daily driving involving mostly rural A & B-roads, so not much city grind to tire out my left peg.

Hopefully I can stretch out my next couple of car purchases (fingers crossed one of them being a 'T' as lovely as Simon's) with a manual box before the reality of push & go hybrid / EV vehicles take hold as the only option...

Hi. Am loving my new 911 Carrera T! Collected it on 6th April. Covered 678 miles already & will have topped 1,000 by Sunday night! So good to be back in a 911 again. Doing my best to keep to 4,000 rpm. And having driven only PDKs for the last two years, am enjoying getting reaquainted with a manual transmission! Working on a seamless transition from 1st to 2nd when briskly moving off... As a couple of people warned, my bright yellow Porsche does seem to be a bit of a magnet to flies and other insects... [:mad:]
