I'm afraid it had to happen some time. Link [link=http://www.rpmtechnik.co.uk/porsche/cgi-bin/csvread.pl?mydatabase=db1&mytemplate=tp3&show=1000109]here[/link]. Regards Dave

Shame Dave [:(], but I suppose you'll make someone's wish to Santa come true......[8|]. I'm sure whoever buys it will enjoy driving it - and that wonderful exhaust note! Have a great Christmas.

My 964 is for sale on [link=http://http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2316473.htm]PistonHeads[/link] While I am prepared to consider offers, they need to be sensible. Why for sale? Ten months on from redundancy and I am still unemployed. The upkeep of a classic car is simply impossible without a regular income. Very sad sale and not from choice I'm afraid. I neither intended nor expected to still be out of work by now, but there simply aren't any jobs out there....or at least, suitable jobs paying a salary to keep both a roof over my head and a 911.

I saw it when I was up at RPM last week, and Darren told me you were selling. I see he's also taken a deposit on my targa. Hope the new owner appears on here some time. Paul.

I sympathise with you Amanda, having been in the same position as you. Several times over the 14 months I was out of work I considered selling my car but ultimately I was able to hold on to it. I drove it for about 10 miles or so each week and got away with a light touch service and have had to delay significantly the body/paint work I had been planning, but I've still got it thankfully. I guess that I realised that if I did sell it, I would proabably never be able to replace it and I couldn't bear the thought of selling it just to clear my credit card debt and have a few quid in the bank which the Government would have used as an excuse to curtail my barely existent benefits. Tough it out if you can, because you'll regret it if you do sell. Alternatively, pic up a well cared for 944S2 for £4K or so when you sell it , which you will find a particularly rewarding drive.

Colin, I couldn't have put it better myself! I've had a lot of people telling me to hang in there and I've been trying to convince myself the glass has to be kept half full.....all of the time. Keeping the car in storage is not a problem - I don't have a garage and I dread to think what this weather would have inflicted on the poor old girl stood out with just a cover over her. What worried me most were the tiny blobs of corrosion that had appeared on the scuttle. Hopefully the dry and warm conditions the car is currently in will slow the process dramatically. While I don't wouldn't want to delay repairs indefinitely, there is no way I could shell out for the work to be done at the moment. If the car was sold, sadly the money would go to paying my rent. Just the thought of that cash disappearing into someone elses (already) fat wallet makes it an even more bitter pill to swallow, and, like you, replacing the car at a later date would be unlikely. Selling aside, the other thing I'd been toying with is exchanging it for a 964 coupe - and there's one I've got my eye on! - but again, right now I'd have a hard time justifying shelling out extra cash. Ade, Thanks for correcting the link. It's been a long week already [&o]

Sell a 964 to pay debts and keep the cash in a bank ? You guys are depressing me ! It will only get harder to find good 964s and the banks will give no interest while sterling is a depreciating asset. The banks may well go bust in another systemic collapse in 2011 and your paper savings will be gone. sorry, rant over.

Guys and gals please remember that this thread was set up to notify those wanting to buy a 964 of members' cars that are up for sale. Thanks, Your friendly moderator [;)]

Hi Dave, Hope you're well? Not been on here for a while so I may have missed earlier discussions, but I saw your car on Pstnhds today and made a bee-line for the forum to get more info'. So what's next? or are you taking a break for a while? If so you'll be sadly missed around the 964 zone :( Regards A

I am thinking about a 964 3.3T (or a 993C/possibly 996 Turbo)... so if there are any goodies out there... please let me know.

Jeez Dave, no wonder I hadn't seen you about the place much. Good luck with the sale, and I hope things are ok, regards Kevin

@x12yhp How deep are your pockets? At the time of posting this, been on Pstnhds for 7 hrs only. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2481534.htm

Pockets are, unfortunately, not that deep! It is £5k beyond where I would be willing to go. I agree with Steve... does he not know what he has got or is he just lazy?

To be fair if I was in the market the text of the advert wouldn't really bother me. I'd be straight on the phone getting all the information that I need.

One or 2 new ones gone up on e-bay in the last day or so... Unfortunately IE8 can't seem to cope with posting links in threads very well so you'll have to search for yorself...[:D]
