Too good (and low mileage to use). Will probably end up in a collection somewhere. Wasted on me as I would be itching to thrash it round a Silverstone track day at every opportunity...

The price for the C4 was added a bit later Jason. I too was taken aback at the price!

I hear the C2 went for a bit more than asking. Some good old gazumping went on!

Depending on how much the 'bit more' actually was it still looked a good buy. Looked a really nice original car.

The C4 has obviously had a LOT spent on it but looks like it is trying to get all that back and some.....which you never can on rebuilds, repaints etc etc....not on a C4 anyway.

There have been some nice original C4's available in the mid 20's so I don't see the price on this one.

If it was an unbelievably accurate LHD RS replica based on a correct C2 then maybe....but not a C4 with some very standard items.

Wish the seller all the best though, shame he has to sell really

if you're spend that kind of money on a rare 964, you've probabally already got a CGT in the garage as well

Hello all,

A quick note here to say I just about to advertise my 964 C4 Cab for sale and thought I would post it here first. Hopefully you should be able to pick up some images here https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B_7Uj6Nu3kz2fkxZdmVXR0VodVUySGZ4T19DTm1lWTg0cWJuLW1UQmdEbnh2aTQwZmJkeE0&usp=sharing. Monster of a link I know!

I live in Sidcup and will be at Biggin Hill for the next two days at the event posted on the forum recently, https://www.theeliteevents.com/.

Briefly, November 1992, 94500, tyres 14 months and 1000 miles old (yes one thousand), refurbished wheels and seats. Cared for by me for the last 15 1/2 years, will be sad to see it go.

Just had a valuation by Peter Morgan, if anyone is interested, please email me.

Rgds
Kevin.

The purchase of my first Porsche is planned for this winter. I have been considering a Boxter 987, but am now thinking that if I'm to enjoy a Porsche I might really prefer a 911 as the classic Porsche. Given their authentic nature, would an air cooled model be a better investment than 996? Prices of 993s and 997s seem rather high for my budget of around £20,000, so I'm led in the direction of a 964. Could I get a good cabriolet which I could run without too many expensive maintenance bills for this money?

Hi Pedro, the only 964's I could find for 20k were "Shed's" and, to be honest, I wouldn't of gave 10k for them !! All the nice/er ones seem to be asking north of 35-40k!!! Just don't make sense . Just my worthless opinion of course.........

^^^ +1.  You won't get a decent 964 Cab for £20K.  The cheapest I could find on PH is £23K and it's a Cat D.  Even a well-known online auction site has nothing at £20K.  Anything at that price is likely to need a lot of cash spent to sort it.

When you say an "investment" do you really mean something on which you hope to make money?  You're unlikely to pick up any 911 model for your budget with that prospect.  Also bear in mind that an investment and a car to drive and enjoy are mutually exclusive.

For £20K you could buy a very good 987 and lots of fun.  I would have another one tomorrow if I could justify running two Porsches .

Just a thought Pedro, have you thought along the lines of a 944 Turbo? Blistering performance, you can tune the nuts out of them and, make them handle like a go-cart !! I'm really starting to regret selling mine (a lot of people said I would). Why did I do that?
Luckily, I have managed to find a superb 968 club sport (in Black once again ) and, I am going to stick with this one. Maybe you should cast your net a bit further Pedro? .
