funny, just received a call from Porsche Cardiff in the last 30 min if I want a February build slot for my GTS, they have received additional allocation. It might be worth giving the ring.

It is no doubt my cancelled order (that never was) I was dealing with Ewan and he was pretty useless
I even had a price protection from the recent price increase!! (pointless if they can't deliver the car)
The thing is they have told you February but my allocation was apparently due 23rd Dec!...which I know would have been February, then March...etc etc
Just fed up with the whole experience tbh, I've already had Tewkesbury on the phone (where I got my 992) asking me to transfer my £5k deposit across to a 992.2 but I'm not going to do that, my C2S is a 2020 and is actually better spec'd than the GTS I was planning (carbon roof and wm's etc) may look for a 992.2 after it's launched in 2024/25...but for now I'm sticking with the 992
So let me know if you take 'my' allocation Cymro, would love to see it when it's delivered

Am I right to think you drink in Pontcanna and know Jamie from the Cricketers (now the Bev)????  (may have got that wrong so forgive me if so)
cheers
Rich

I was not in a hurry, my present GTS is only 8 months old. However I have told them I will take it. I do not drink in Pontcanna, but I do know Jamie and Simon who used to be at the Cricketers.

Interesting comments on allocations etc - mine - 911 Carrera 2 - order sept 2021 - maybe allocation Q2 2023.
Any idea when the 992 gen 2 will be announced - might wait for that now ? Any thoughts ?

i have seen the Hybridised 911 was originally due to be launched in Sept 2023, but this has been pushed back to the middle of 2024. The persistent lack of semiconductors is dictating the launch of new models and delivery of the existing ones.  Myself i am just going to sit it out and wait for my GTS allocation and hope i get it early 2024!

Also sitting it out. Carrera S ordered August 2021 with no date yet.  Appears to be quite a backlog of orders for these so hope Porsche don’t get too fixated on newly launched versions at the expense of loyal customers.

I’m in the same position. Ordered Standard 992 Cabriolet 16 months ago and still awaiting an allocation. Porsche GB know I exist as I got some biscuits from them for Christmas. The dealership is another story, they have not once contacted me on their initiative since order placement, the only contact has been initiated by myself every few months or so when I get ****ed off with the process. The porsche experience centre visit though was fantastic so I’m definitely hanging in there.

Hang in there Roger, once you have a build slot allocated we found the dealer was quite communicative…. because they had something to communicate.  Our build slot went back four times with parts availability but we were told yesterday that ours had now left the factory.  Our wait time is over 20 months so far, so you must be nearly there, hang in there.

I’ve been told mine is on track to be delivered in March this year, I originally ordered a C2S in July 21 after selling my 991.1 C2S, but after ongoing delays and no sign of my C2S materialising my dealer offered me their GTS allocation (this was in August 22) which I accepted as the wait was affecting my health 😂
For anyone interested my build is below.

Sounds like we’re all in the same boat !
So frustrating that Porsche announce the 911T and 911 Dakar (WTF ! ) with deliveries in the spring 2023 but loyal mugs like us have to wait with minimal interface from Porsche or the dealer ( who from my experience knows little more than what I can glean from the inter web ! ) for our 911’s.
My take on this is that they are running the 911 gen 1 stocks down before they announce the gen 2 although Richard thought it was more to do with supply issues ( post 21/12 ). Still hoping that when they do get round to  my allocation that I’ll get a 911Carrera gen 2.
Longp2 - very smart build - enjoy.

Hello,

So today I received the first e-mail from Porsche UK to confirm my order has been created. I placed my deposit in May and this is the first correspondence to confirm the order. So this appears to be step 1 of 5 on the app. Can anyone give me an idea of their experience of time scales from step 1 to delivery? Over the moon I have now had some correspondence.

Great news. What is the timeline from now allocation to build date?
Did you place your order deposit May 2021 or May 2022?

It’s a hard question and depends to some extent on your configuration. I watched some folks order after us and get theirs prior to Christmas.  I had a three month hold too, build started in October, but then went on hold. I’m assuming it was parts shortages but that was my supposition.
Ours is in the UK now, and I’m expecting it end of this month, so 16-17 months end to end for us. Hope that helps?

It was 15-16 months for me end to end (order to delivery), which seems pretty normal now in reflection.  At the time I was getting very impatient.

I got my allocation confirmation in January 2022 and took delivery in Sept 2022.

All I can say is, it's definitely worth the wait! ☺️
