We plan to hopefully purchase a pre cat 88 250 turbo in next week or so and add Tractive suspension and Cup 1 wheels 7.5 J x 17 ET52 and 9Jx 17 ET47 with some sticky tyres. Will leave engine stock for now other than usual wastegate mod and light remap who are the best indy out there for servicing and if we ever need an engine build a reliable 350bhp with 350ft lbs for light track fun out of interest?

Make sure you keep oil topped up with sticky tyres on track, and add some additional brake ducting / uprated pads (and correct any caliper plate lift). They can be great track cars.

Whereabouts are you located? the number of good 944 experts is diminishing as the number of cars reduces.

Engine build depends a little on what you want but I would speak to Simon at https://www.spsengines.co.uk/ also check the various build threads here.

Thanks. Bought the NI 944 turbo. Servicing etc to 911 Virgin who do look after these as well as 911s. Inspection came back our new 944 is time warp so other than a thorough recommissioning and a set of TracTive coilovers with a new set of tyres on original 16s (Pirelli P Zero Rosso are surprisingly available through Kwik Fit in correct sizes) planning to leave the rest standard. Was only upgrading forged mag wheels as thought tyre sizes not available. We've decided not to change the 80s turbo power delivery although v.tempting to with an Evergreen turbo upgrade in stock turbo housing.

Found a lovely autocar piece on 944 turbo se v 911 CS

And an even better piece by Steve Bennet who is coincidentally TracTive's UK agent. 944 active coil over kit will be available in a few months and going by experience on our 997 turbo should be a game changer. After reading these articles again mental note to add another 3.2 Carrera (in white). Had one of those too in black like our first black 944 turbo se. Excited! ;)

The reason I was interested in the Silver Rose chassis number was that back in the day Steve Cox came up with a continuous series of 70 numbers relating to the batch of RHD cars. sadly i've lost that e-mail from Steve in the mass of Titanic correspondence. But recently on the market was 101620,101537, mine is 642. so that spans 105 cars. 537 I think was registered in June88 which is very early.

That 88 Silver Rose at Fairmont has just sold for approaching £40k. A drivers car hats off to whoever bought her ;)

A pic of our old Carrera 3.2 also in black similar to our old 944 turbo se. Looking for a white Carrera 3.2 too now. The good old 80s.
