Does anyone know this white M758 944 turbo s? Two owners. The rear turbo badge seems bit wonky. Front bumper not quite sitting flush with bonnet etc on O/S. Also O/S front pop up light seems to have sagged a little. Otherwise looks nice enough. Any helpful info greatly appreciated.

A European Turbo S with a factory sunroof, and that nasty interior?

It's certainly a strange combination. I didn't think any turbo s had a sunroof, and was it not burgundy plaid interior they all had? This one is grey plaid by the looks of it.

Stuart
I think the Yanks got a sunroof with their Turbo S. Not unusual to read misinformation, and people looking to take offence when money comes into the equation. The non standard colours came along after the success of the initial silver rose painted Turbo S.

The white , black 944 turbo s were delivered almost contemporaneously as the Silver Rose cars maybe up to four weeks later.

Certain unique spec on my current 991.2 turbo s cab bought via Exclusive Programme is not available officially either. One of the last UK cars delivered ;)

From CC the vendor certainly knows his onions on 944 turbo S.

KEY FACTS
  • A well-maintained example of the rare Porsche 944 Turbo S; presented in a lesser-seen colour scheme.
  • Under the bonnet is the turbocharged 2.5-litre ‘M44/52’ inline-four, which sends around 250bhp to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
  • An original ‘C16-code’ UK-market car, this 944 Turbo S is one of only 70 examples produced.
  • 63 of the 70 were reportedly in ‘Silver Rose’ specification, making this one of just seven cars which was customer specified from the factory.
  • The 944 Turbo S is a particularly rare variant of the 944 Turbo. Only built in 1988, it featured a larger turbocharger and exhaust valves, an upgraded transmission, a limited-slip differential, larger 928 S4-spec front brakes, and ‘Clubsport’ wheels.
  • This example is finished in Alpine White over a black leather-trimmed interior.
  • Factory-fitted equipment includes lowered Koni adjustable suspension, front sport seats, a top tinted windscreen, air conditioning, and a premium audio system.
One thing not mentioned is that this batch of 70 944 turbo S actually had a stiffer chassis too with special reinforced subframes similar to the 944 turbo Cup. These 944 handle a smidge better than other stock 944 turbo I've driven as a result. These were absolute rocket ships back in the day it was funny watching middle aged yuppies in their 911s trying to keep up with me. I am sure there is still a yuppy lost in a hedge around the back roads of South Mimms as I raced him all the way up the A1. I remember sailing past him and he looked absolutely terrified at the wheel of his stallion medallion 930. Hilarious. To this day one of the best chassis Porsche has ever produced. Taught me to enjoy oversteer. Hitting the apex and timing it with the onset of boost at around 3000 to 4000rpm rpm intoxicating on a track or a clear fast road. Bit frustrating with other traffic actually and very laggy by modern turbo standards. Actually adds to the appeal for me. They do cost bit to maintain these any info on the site one appreciated yes it is one of the two white ones. Just look at it. It exists. Pesky facts. Its a UK C16 car too :)

The car is Northern Ireland is not a Turbo S.

The car for sale by the Modern Classic Car Company I have no idea as I closed the ad as soon as I saw their name attached to it, I’ve been around these parts long enough to remember almost all of their different Phoenix company names over the years. From a cursory look at the auction page, the DIY copper brake lines stand out like a sore thumb - glad it didn’t sell, Caveat Emptor big time.

There are 3 non-SilberRosa Turbo S cars within a 10 mile radius of my house, 1 white, 1 red and a silver one that lives in my garage.

I think as per the advert the NI may be a 944 turbo se? I remember speaking to the salesman when we ordered our black non sunroof with ac 250bhp 944 turbo for delivery Sept 88 Porsche sales guy referred to ours as an "se" too? May have been a UK only specific 944 turbo model designation? Both ours and this white NI car are 250 bhp pre cat 944 turbo.

I'm just looking for a minter the modern classic car co one is nice enough but I am looking for a nicer one. They are hard to find and if you get a neglected one can be very expensive to maintain.

I'm more interested in condition and if anyone knows the NI car rather than if its an s, se or normal 944 turbo. Thanks in advance.

Chassis no 101642 is now my car again. Steve Cox at one stage gave me a list of consecutive chassis numbers for the Silver Rose cars and mine was one of the list. At present residing with Cotswold Porsche while the Callipers are being refurbished. Unfortunately this seems to entail manufacturing new pistons as they are unobtainable in any sort of reasonable time scale.

Can anyone point me in the direction of the Silver Rose chassis number list?

Smurff991TS is correct in his description of the car.... with one small exception . the suspension is Height adjustable. All 4 corners have a large adjustable nuts to raise or lower as required

^ Yes Koni I think. Wicked little sports cars these when running well and very capable. Hidden gems if you can find a good 944 turbo.

For those that might post incorrect information. The adjusters adjust the damping, not the ride height. The front Turbo S dampers have adjustable spring platforms to alter the ride height. The rear turbo S dampers aren't height adjustable, though the 968 MO30 rear dampers do have helper coil springs.

Rear height adjustment is on the arms (as all 944?) or by adjusting the splines.

That is beyond the scope of the original rear dampers though.

Heres another one. They're certainly labour of love look at all the work this one has had done.

https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/1988-porsche-944-turbo-se

We plan to hopefully purchase a pre cat 88 250 turbo in next week or so and add Tractive suspension and Cup 1 wheels 7.5 J x 17 ET52 and 9Jx 17 ET47 with some sticky tyres. Will leave engine stock for now other than usual wastegate mod and light remap who are the best indy out there for servicing and if we ever need an engine build a reliable 350bhp with 350ft lbs for light track fun out of interest?
