Thanks Pete, I've had 3 of them, all from new, going back to 2013. I might buy another one of these next, just to stick in the conservatory, and look at.Looks nice Paul....![]()

They aren't cheap and I didn't do it through the insurance as it was my mistake.I think I've only had one new screen fitted, that was on my old BMW 328 Coupe. The fitter had to call for backup to get the old one out. I still tense up a bit when I hear stones hit my screen.
The fitters had the old screen out pretty quickly and in one-piece apart from the aerial cable which they cut. They did comment that they thought the original screen hadn't been fitted properly as they thought it was slightly loose!

The screen on my 328 was due for replacement due a small crack . I was cleaning the inside of it one day, and bumped the rear view mirror with my head. That caused a surprisingly big crack to appear. They aren't cheap and I didn't do it through the insurance as it was my mistake.

That did cross my mind that I could have had an accident with it but then I would have had to go through the insurance, this way I got the correct screen from the dealer myself and was able to choose the fitter.

Old straps below with the part numbers.

Lucky you Pete. Road tax is a rip off on a turbo now, even though I cash it in every winter. Not today but yesterday the old girl had her last ever MOT, no adviseries as per usual. I was shocked that she had only covered 241 miles last year but considering what I've been through not really that surprising. Next year I'll register her as Historic.

Same here, though I had several advisories ! Have had to SORN mine as I need to repair an oil leak on the sump gasket and replace the engine mounts.
