I am very disappointed with the comments from John Sims and Peter Bull. Banter is fine in person when you can see the body language behind its delivery. In writing it’s very different. This is the 21st century Gentlemen, you need to be more aware of what you type.

You are of course entitled to your opinion, but Clive has summed it up perfectly in post #18 above.

In the 21st century we are now in the world of keyboards where many people communicate via Facebook, Twitter, Forums, Instagram etc and its impossible to assess body language and delivery.

Quoting Clive 'Goodness, you're very quick to take offence where no offence is intended'.

I do hope we can see you on here promoting the events in your region and I will look forward to reading them. Best of luck.

Hello,
[style="background-color: #ffff99;"]Before I join[/style], is there anything that happens in my area, Truro down to Lands End?
Thanks
Geoff

Crumbs, this has turned into something of a thread.

May welcome Geoff to the forum and thank him for posting. I hope we haven't put him off before he really starts.

I have often said that the forum is the shop window of the Club and Geoff's post very much demonstrates that.

He is asking (in considering joining) if anything happens in his area and how would he find out about it. It is all very well to have member news letters and member FarceBook pages, etc. but somewhat insular as you have to already be a member to get that information.

Assuming we haven't put Geoff off already I hope we can look on this thread as having been a positive learning experience?

Dear John,
Thank you for your summary, I appreciate your words and to-that-end I have paid my subscription in the hope that the forum is used for all events and communication in the future, I don't do FarceBook (as you describe it).
I would like to thank Nigel and Clive too, I think the "banter" between them will make the forum stronger than it appears to currently be.
I'm looking forward to being part of Porsche GB.
Thanks again
Geoff

Welcome to the Club Geoff.

A very warm welcome to you, Geoff. I hope you will enjoy your Club membership and find it rewarding.

It would be great to hear a little about yourself, your location, your car, impressions of the Porsche marque etc.

It's items such as this that keeps the forum interesting and moving along and will, hopefully, be encouraged by our local officials in future. [;)]

Regards,

Clive
