Silverstone track evening?

Nice to see everyone for a chinwag whilst we dodged the puddles and the downpour. All the 944's were driven with consumate skill in very slippy conditions [:)] Later on in the pub it was great to witness our Register Sec has lost none of his pulling power with the barmaids :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Great to meet you all and put some more faces to forum profiles. With a day to reflect, I think I've now just about figured-out who everyone is... [&:] Really enjoyed the track action, totally forgot to set-up the mini video camera in all the excitement. Neil, Sean and the red turbo - Hope you manage to get the various niggles sorted without too much pain.

I must say actually the few front engined porkers I saw out on track drove very neatly and cleanly, I remember the Ford Asbo [:D], he was one of the 2 cars I let pass only to be almost immediately held up again. Very surprised how quick it was down the straights are they all that quick now? The other was that Lotus 2/11, mega fast on the straights but he went a good 10 mph slower through that fast right after the new pits than I would have wanted then just pulled away from me through the next corner before I had a chance to get him back [], only joking [:D].

I have been thinking of doing another one of these, have spied the July 25th evening trackday also with Goldtrack. Anyone fancy a run out - hopefully less wet this time. ps did I miss the pictures for the 20th June event, not seen them ? WHOOPS, see the next post -- exactly 6 seconds after I posed the question! Nice work Mike.

Was a lovely evening with friends new and old and hope that everybody got back OK. Wasn't a very good day for photography but I tried! Some of my snaps (250!) - [link=http://s787.photobucket.com/albums/yy158/A9XXC/Silverstone%20Track%20Evening%2020%2006%2011/]Here[/link] My favourite -

I shared a garage with him. Very nice bloke. But its not exactly an ideal car for those weather conditions! He went haring past me a couple of times - but then most people did!

Yeah, go on then. I'll try to keep up (if its dry!).

This was in the dry! That corner is only a short dab of brake down to about 90 mph then balanced throttle through and full throttle out and through the following left which is well over a ton in my S2 race car. I reckon the club championship fast guys will be faster still as I am not up to that pace yet, certainly a couple of guys have hinted to me about not braking which I think is impossible except in a very underpowered car, however one could always take the approach of maxing that first corner on the limit then running out wide on the next left. I think its faster overall to only use half the track there and get a nice run foot to the floor through the following left. He was definitely one of the good drivers out there, clean clear moves and a hand up to acknowledge, tbh I thought the driving standards were OK it was really only the Asbo and one of the Smart cars trying to race everyone 6" from your bumper. I tell you what though that 2/11 is a seriously seriously quick car, I honestly didn't think they had much power but it pulled away from me at an incredible rate of knots.

Brilliant pictures Mike! Would dearly love copies of a few. The later ones in the wet are particularly good. You are clearly more devoted than the official Goldtrack photographers (pictures now up at fresh-orange) who dont seem to have taken many pictures in the wet. [;)] Count me in for 25th July.

Hi Steve Email your address to me on A9XXC@aol.com and I can send 2 or 3, no problem. Think the 968 guys are looking at the 25th too!

Why is that? Because my head looks enormous [:D][:D][:D]
