New members welcome and photos

Hello everyone, had my car just over 2 years and recently discovered PCGB - hoping to get out more!!!
This is my baby, with Mrs F sitting in her (and a load of shopping as usual). Looking forward to some nice drives in the future.

The red does look good in a cabrolet.... It looks like the Mrs likes either the car or the presents.....[;)] I hope you've been making good use of the cabriolet over the past few weeks [8D] garyw

I would say more to do with the presents (new lights for our house) and the boot, back of the car and any available space had boxes in it! I make good use of the cab all year round, as long as it's not raining [:)] I had the problem with the car not starting last week, which was just the battery (phew), picked the car up on Saturday morning and made up for the lack of driving over the last week.

New member and first post, picked up my GTS last month.......Very, very happy but unfortunately do not get to drive it much due to work travel.

Welcome Chris, If this is your first Porsche, you've chosen well. GTS is a superb model and I particularly like the contrasting black wheels on yours. Did you go for manual of PDK? Look forward to meeting up on forthcoming 997 Register outings. Regards, Clive.

Very tasty indeed Chris! You'll have to try rearranging your diary to go on some drives with the register and get the most out of your new steed. Is this a first foray into Porsche ownership or are you a serial offender like a lot of us here?

Yep, first Porsche. Never been a huge fan until the Gen 2 997 and then when the GTS was released I was fortunate enough to be in a position to buy one. I have a whole hour with it this week.....Unfortunately from SP9 to Heathrow :-(

We may potentially have something comng up in your neck of woods on w/e 13/14 August. So stand by for more news shortly. [;)] Regards, Clive.

C4S, meteor grey, black interior, PSE etc. etc.... Former Boxster S owner and loving every minute of the change. Hope to meet some of you (especially the local ones) sometime soon. Mark

Welcome Mark, Lovely car. Congratulations!

When you say local, where are you located? Regards, Clive

Welcome along Mark [:D] The Meteor in the photo has shown up quite dark, something I like about how Meteor can change in different light...[:)] garyw

Hi Guys & Gals I have had my 997 for 5 months now and forgot all about posting a pic on here until I saw the last post. So here goes.
IMG_1929.jpg
Its a 2007 car and was a Porsche Cars GB Press car. In 2008 it featured in Chrsitophorus April/May 2008 No.331 with Vic Elford driving it around Monaco. It's got lots of toys - but no heated seats or cruise!!! THis is teh list from the OPC blurb! • 19 inch Sport Design wheel • Bi-Xenon lighting system • CDC-4 six disc CD auto changer • Manual Gearbox • Navigation module for PCM • PCM Telephone module • Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) • Porsche crest embossed on head restraints • Rear wiper • Sport Chrono Package Plus • Sport Sortshifter • Sports Suspension (- 20 mm) including mechanical rear • differential lock • Sports exhaust system • Sports seats • Telephone module • Three-spoke sports steering wheel in smooth leather • Tyre Pressure Monitoring system (TPM) • Coloured Wheel centre set • Windscreen with grey top tint • Porsche Tracker I took it to the Nurburgring Nordschleife last month and was awesome!!! My first time on a track too and we will be back again next year. So much more capable than the 996 Cab I had before - as different as chalk and cheese! Oh and by the way - I use it every day and have done over 5000 miles in it already. I learnt my lesson with the 996 trying to keep the miles low. Never again! If only I could get Vic to sign it under the bonnet ..................... !!! Anyone know when he'll be around the UK again?

Very nice Peter, Love the wheels and I've always been a fan of Speed Yellow (pity my wife isn't! [&:]) Excellant spec. too. Congratulations. [:)] Regards, Clive.

Peter I had cruise retro-fitted by my OPC for £399 all in, it was some sort of offer at the time though. Your car looks stunning btw. David
