New members welcome and photos

Glad you 'get it', I've recently spoken to some people who didn't - and then they mentioned they hadn't actually driven one [&:][] The Turbo does look great in white and certainly seem to show it off really nicely..[8D] ( I think well haveto have a Red and White day [;)]) I certainly thought the spec was more than OK! rather good I'd say and entirely agree on the cruise control, excellent now the retrofit is so easily done.. Hopefully a trip to Germany next year amongst a few other things being planned.. garyw

Love to get something in the diary Gary for next year. Something to look forward to for everyone, with all this lovely weather.

Hi, I have finally got around to posting some pics of my new pride and joy some of you already seen it from the Nearly New years drive but for those who have not here it is! Cheers JP

Great to see you here JP and nice to see the car on a clear day.. I've fixed the links to show the car off to its best, you'll find that Red is a very much liked colour here [:)] garyw

Thanks Gary That looks much better! Hopefully in time and with a little more practice I will get there[;)] Cheers JP

JP As Gary said, red's the best colour (you did say that, didn't you[:D][:D]) Love the wheel choice, suits the car. Hope to see you at one of the events in '11

Hi Peter Thanks for your comments, I am still unsure about the wheels, I bought the car with these already fitted and I am quite keen on changing them for a set of the Turbos what do you guys think? They do take a bit to clean them and I think the turbo alloys show off the discs and red calipers better[:D] Cheers JP

Were you thinking the turbo or turbo 2 wheels? Expensive changeover for either, but although I like both the turbos I still love yours.

Hi I am in no rush perhaps I will wait for the spring and then decide, the wheels in question are like the ones fitted to Garys? which model are these? Cheers JP

Gary's are the Gen 1 Turbo wheels, they occasionally turn up on ebay or pistonheads secondhand which may be worth a look.

We've had quite a few sets for sale within the clubs for sale section too.. In fact I think nearly half of the cars on the 28th were wearing Turbo wheels [:(] [:)] garyw

Hi everyone and Happy New Year !! I'm back on the forum now after a couple of months away. Really looking forward to joining you on a couple of drives / events this year as will be great to meet up again. Also, I really need to get some use out of my car after what I had to spend on it in October (tyres, discs, full service + sparks, warrenty renewal, road tax & insurance) [:(][:(] All the best,

Welcome back Doug. I think there should be plenty enough going on this year to get involved with! Hope to catch you at one or more!![:)]

Nice to see you back here Doug, hope all is well. October for you and me eh!!![] Hope to catch up later in the year and have some events to interest you... garyw

Hello All, New to all things Porsche (just 24hrs in) and loving it! Picked up my 2S on Friday (pictured here - if my IT skills hold up). 1st task - explore Surrey's finest B-roads (big grin still on my face). 2nd task - vindicate myself by proving to my wife that the 997 can handle a day out, 4 up, with both kids, car seats, and accompanying paraphanelia on board (job done). 3rd task - overcome the onset of irrational paranoia that my pride and joy will now either a) be stolen, b) be vandalised, c) be one of the unlucky few to suffer that engine problem, or d) any combination of the above. Bring on the ownership experience! [;)] Looking forward to meeting other members in the coming months. Simon.
