Museum trip and ring trip next year

ORIGINAL: Frenchy

Count me in for a whole week, ferry on the Monday so that we get the full day at Dinslaken, the odd night camping would also suit me, as we can all get round the BBQ and have a good natter, i too am also partial to a comfy bed so a mix suits me fine but i will go with the majority.
We may have to put up with a couple of 964's (Mike Moore and Rob Smith)
Come on people get your names down, i count six cars so far.
Jim.

As Jim boy says - Dinslaken for the full day i think as well to, a mix of half & half B&B's & Camping is the way forward as we all have our own summer beach holidays to think about so costs do need to be kept to a minimum or the better half's will just put a block on the escapades, ok lads ?!! :)

I will have a look and pop off some e-mails this week, will speak with the organiser of the factory tours as well and see what they come up.
Alasdair

I've kept quietly watching this one... time to say I am seriously interested - cannot commit yet, but seriously interested - I would be another one going via Dover though...

Regards,

Tref.

Well done Tony, we need PS there now ! Paul ?

Oops I thought I had replied on this one but obviously not [&:]

Yes I am very keen, depending on dates, times etc I would go for a Dover crossing too

Subject to the engine rebuild etc. going to plan I'd like to join if an old and slow 924 is allowed to join in [:)]

Aye absolutely, can i lick your Fuchs please [:D] we can arrange a meeting point for our friends from the Sarf, we may have a couple of souped up Beetles with us also, Al get yer finger out lad and stop messing with Porsches for an hour or so.
That said it may be easier if we get one of the lads from Darn Saef to organise getting together with a meeting point in Germany (Ed you busy ?) may i suggest a Hotel Nr Dinslaken agreed by all, if Tony comes do not let him drink Rum [;)]
I would love to see Tony and Paul again, what year was LM ?
Jim.

Bloody Ell lads just realised that the jerrys will think there is a UK Porsche invasion in the form of a Pincer movement, stay cool though as we will be able to outrun the Panzers on the Autobahn [:D]

Would make for a long trip! I think best to keep them separate. Personally I am not that interested in the 24 hours as i find it better watching it on the telly! The classic would be a lot more appealing though.
Alasdair

The Nurburgring 24hr Rennen isn't on the telly mate. I think you must be getting confused with 24hrs Du Mans or possibly the Le Mans Classic (which isn't on next year. The former event is a definite "must do before you die" spectacular!!!

I take it that not one of you wants to accompany me to the GREATEST, most spectacular endurance race on planet Earth?!?! You would all rather go to a fcuking museum? Am i correct in thinking this?

Skyline done LM a couple of times and the main one is nowhere near as good as the classic, i have done both a number of times, the classic which is bi-annual so next one is 2014 blows the main one away, this is just my opinion of course, way too many Dckheads and non petrol heads (only there for a session) who are likely to urinate or damage your car................not for me.
We are organising a trip to Germany, to take in the biggest Porsche show in the world, plus a trip to the N Ring and then off to Stuttgart for the Porsche Museum, you are welcome to join us but please do not hijack this forum with LM stuff, if you fancy a trip to LM next year start a thread and gauge some interest and organise it there will be takers, not too hard really, tell prospectives travel dates and times and where to be at certain times along the trip.
Jim.

Its actually a very good museum and its on the list of many on here to visit at some point (hence the trip) and it will be my second time there.

Yeah, i'm sure it is Edd and i hope you have a great time. Frenchy, try reading my post carefuly. Not too hard really. Where abouts in the post do i suggest a trip to Le Mans...? Hmm. I suggested an extended trip to Germany to take in the NURBURGRING 24HR RENNEN, which is arguably the greatest endurance race in the world today. Period. In no way did i suggest a trip to Le Mans for the 24hrs Du Mans race which, if i'm honest, is an overpriced corporate rip off! I said in my post that you must be getting the former confused with the latter. Finaly, the Nurburgring 24hr race is NOT on the telly! Enjoy the museum.

Actually I would like to go to the Nurburgring 24hr at some point, I heard some very good reviews, it appears to be the 24hr race to attend at present, its on my to do list (along with 6 hours of Spa and Monaco Historic). However if you want people to join you, then protesting about our already planned museum trip the way you have is not going to be particularly favorable, by all means make suggestions but also be mindful we may not wish to change ours plans to accommodate them.

What Ed says Skyline TBH i did not know it was on, you did bail in with guns blazing !! i would love to do this along with Spa, a local guy does Spa on a regular (Roy Parfer Ed), not sure when it is but personally i can only spend so much time away hoonng around Europe without taking the P at home !
Get this one out of the way and it can go on the "to do" list ?

Alasdair............................what's gan on lad ?

Git it sorted and let us know !!
