Museum trip and ring trip next year

Al, Dinslaken in Germany May 1st hosts the biggest Porsche gathering in Europe, would be good to attend then move on to the ring / museum ?

Mike Moore is going to this in his 964 Anniversary as the "Jubi Club" 964 Anniversary owners turn up in numbers, any thoughts people ? as previously posted let's set a date so that we can plan ahead [;)]

Go on Alasdair. Set a date. Then you'll see how many are up for it. I am. The more the merrier. What a sight 20, 30 how about 40 944's giving it large on the autobahn. Might be the last time to drive "The Ring". Footnote. lets remind Porsche how under valued our cars are.

This sounds good, perhaps we could incorporate it? Either way I'm looking forward to this already, just what this register needs...

Ed, hope you and yours are well sincere regards to your dad also, Mike had some pics of you on track at LMC and keeps meaaning to send them, i will be on his case, Rob Smith Red 964 may also come along, i like the idea of Dinslaken Porsche Meet, then onto the ring the following day ?
Will come in the Turbo S methinks.
The Dinslaken meet is on the 1st May every year regardless of day as it is a bank holiday.
Regards Jim.

1st May is always a public holiday in Germany regardless of the day it falls on

Hi All

Frenchy mentioned this jaunt to me the other day, count me & my co-driver "The Better Half" in on this one, always wanted to go to the museum

We'll travel via ferry from Newcastle "North Shields" only 15mins from mine, - Amsterdam "IJmuiden" if my memory serves me right ferry would set sail 17:30 hrs on the Thursday night & like mentioned earlier arrives the Friday morning at 08:00 hrs.

That ferry is always good fun as you have all the stag/hen doo's en-route to Amsterdam including all your pot heads...

Can't wait for this one already, keep me posted on costs, bookings, when, where etc etc

Cheers Paul & Julie-ann [:D]

Hi Paul, Would be good to see you on another 944 trip.

Edd

Hi Edd

Yes snap, would be good to see you to, this trip has the potential to be as good as Le Mans Classic 2012 trip if we could get double figures in 44's blasting across the continent !!! [;)]

Right gents, I am looking to encompass the gathering on the 1st of May and also take in the Ring and Spa. Do people want to put their names on the list so I can get an idea of who wants to go.
Basic itenary will be a visit to Dinslaken on the way from the boat I would think, I would be on the Newcastle ferry on the Tuesday night which would be getting in to Ijmuiden about 8am on the Wednesday but could go out the Monday night instead which would mean that you could get the whole day at Dinslaken. I will be booking thw whole week off work
I cannot find any 2013 dates for tourist laps of the Ring as yet. I think with the current situation, it may be after the turn of the year and also depending on what happens with the company. Spa is the same although it is financially OK!
A trip to the Porsche museum in Stuttgart also would be good to get in. How many days would people want to go away for???
Let me know who is interested in going please so I can get a handle on the numbers, etc!

Hi Alasdair

Count me + 1, can't wait to do all four events - Dinslaken, Ring, Spa & Museum...

Nothing seems to have been mentioned anything regarding sleeping arrangements, I.e. B&B's, Camping, Hotels etc etc bearing in mind ferries quite pricey so Camping would be the obvious choice ?!!

Thanks

Would rather B and B or hotel as I like a bed now I am older although camping is a possibility for a night or 2. The more there is, the better a deal for hotels, B and Bs and also the ferry maybe.
Alasdair

I'm fine with a few days camping & a few days B&B as my bad back gets me sometime but Frenchy will tell you that Asda does some good deals on double air beds !!! [;)]

Count me in for a whole week, ferry on the Monday so that we get the full day at Dinslaken, the odd night camping would also suit me, as we can all get round the BBQ and have a good natter, i too am also partial to a comfy bed so a mix suits me fine but i will go with the majority.
We may have to put up with a couple of 964's (Mike Moore and Rob Smith)
Come on people get your names down, i count six cars so far.
Jim.

Put me down too please, going to be traveling from Dover (I guess) and can meet up at Dinslaken or sooner. Camping or B&B suits me, camping is great for a couple a days, much more and it gets tedious.
