Still got them, haven’t tried putting them on eBay or impact bumpers, to be honest I have a garage full of bits, as I guess most of us have

Thought I would give the old girl a look over ready to get back onto the black stuff after the x-mas break, however I noticed that the passengers door couldn't be opened from the outside. After stripping back the lining and having a good looksee, I noticed the trigger on the door handle had snapped at the fulcrum and wasnt applying enough leverage to open the door

Now need to find a trigger or a whole new door handle Marc

I took the handle into work and tried to fix the trigger, bad mistake it completely disintegrated. Well it is 30+ years old. Think I have a replacement on its way though, I have managed to get one on eBay. I just hope it’s in good nick, it looked it from the photos. Just made me think though if the condition of the aluminium in the door handles is brittle then whats the engine like.

Managed to get a replacement handle from ebay, 964 and replaced the trigger. however I decided to clean and repaint the handle as it looked a little tired

Re-assembled ready to go back on the car. Just got to put it all back now.

Now thats its easter I thought I would take a Little time to track down a few little oil leaks. First I'm going to replace the value covers and mine are OEM and Im sure they are leaking onto my exhaust. Ordered some 930 value covers from the states and they came yesterday, so will be putting them on soon [] I love little jobs like these.

No I just used a Microfibre cloth and lots of elbow grease

Recently I have been toying with the idea of putting Fuchs on the car.

When I purchased the car it came with 17inch Cup 1s, which i quite like, however tastes change and I think I need to replace them with Fuchs?

Got feed up at looking at the off black (grey) window surrounds so have decided to rub back prim and re-spray

Mind you having looked at the photograph I think I need to do the door handle as well

Completed passengers side (in my case Drivers side) and then started on the other, however I have always had problems with the window on my passengers side so I thought I would give it a look before starting, after stripping the door card off and having a good look see I was greated by this

Mind you the finished side does look good[]

Get the Fuchs - the car will look so much better. Then lose the whale tail?

I'm saving my pennies as I speak for my fuchs, I have seen a set of 15inch which I think will suit the car. Not to sure about loosing the whale tail though I love it[]. Mind you I still have the original engine lid so I guess and can swap and change as the mood takes. PS anybody want to buy a set of 17inch cup1s?

Each to their own but I love these cars with original flat engine lid. Retro seventies is ice cool at the moment. And if you did that, the black protectors in front of the rear wheels should be next to go!

I got my window lift guide today and fitted it to the car, the rubber needed to be soaked and then given a little washing up liquid to get it to seat correctly but Im happy now as the window now winds up and down, its the little things[] While I was messing with the door I decided to fit some new door speakers as well, they have a separate tweeter and a cross over, only managed to fit the one side for now, hopefully do the other side tomorrow and post some pictures. Mind you they do make a difference to the sound and that’s just the one side fitted.

Fitted the drivers side speakers today to finish that little job off

Decided to attack the little bit of tin worm which had started to show through at the bottom of the "B" pillar, I thought it would be best to remove the outer sill cover to give better access to the area. As luck would have it, it was only surface rust and is now in primer ready for top coat as soon as the weather allows. However I also decided to rub back and respray the outter sill while it was off.

Roped my two little boys into helping clean it down, start them young []

Haven't managed to do much this month, the car has been sat in the garage gathering dust. So I rolled it out and gave it a wash and my youngest son decided he would like a photo shoot

Hopfully will have all the little bits of work finished off soon and then of to the MOT station and back on the road
