Cayman Register Members on this Forum?

Thanks Jeff, same to you. But did you receive your Cayman Register car badge from PCGB as a result, perhaps Kevan can advise how I can get one? Chris

When I approached Alan to add my Cayman to the Register (prior to Kevan taking over as RS) he emailed me this form: https://www.porscheclubgb.com/legacy/clientftp/Register/996/misc/cayman/Cayman_register_form.doc (View/edit in print layout) Alan requested I returned it to the Club Office. However, it was only after I emailed it to Kevan that I received my sticker. Maybe he could give you the proper procedure, but the form may be useful to have, to prepare in advance.

Chris, I've just checked and all I seem to have is the Club badge. I don't recall ever having received a Register badge. Jeff Edit: Looking at the form that Richard's referenced, I'm pretty sure that's the one I completed and forwarded to the Club office last year. Maybe it just enters a black hole.!

Richard, Thanks for sharing that form with us. I will wait for Kevan to confirm he can send me a sticker before filling it in. Chris

Hi All, Just back off a weeks skiing holiday, hence the delays in replies on this. When I got my Cayman S I phoned the club office and it was done over the phone but that was some years ago, as Richard has kindly made the form available on the forum I see no problem with filling it in scanning and sending it to the office by post or email since it is they who issue an updated list of register members each month. As for the stickers, Alan passed them to me but of the few sent out so far I paid the postage myself or handed them out personally. So far I have not claimed any expenses but can't just post them off and wait to see if club office agrees this. I'll check if they can supply stamps for such arisings, must say though that it is preferable to hand them out at events we meet at. For anyone within range, I'll be at the R8 meet next week, I'm also thinking that I may go to R9 too at some time. On another point, should anyone change their Cayman for say, a later model, then it's ideal to update your register entry.

Well I make it 23 so far and I know that there were several others regularly on the forum a few months ago but ok some may have been Boxster owners due to the similarities and some may just not wish to get involved but to be observers. There are also some on the forum who will drop in make a comment and disappear... Basically the number of posters on this thread are just below 10% of the register but looking at the number of hits we're either getting a lot of guests or a significant number of the observe but don't get involved sorts. Probably quite representative through the club as a whole after all we do drive the most exclusive model as a category.

Hi All Gen II Cayman S in Black, 2010. Had it 12 months now and really enjoying it. In R6 (North Wales) but tend to go to R5 meetings Mike

Hi Mike, you make it 24 on this thread but that is about half of the number of Cayman Thread starters ( not counting the repeats ) from the past year and of course plenty only reply when they feel like it, several haven't replied but then some are with other registers but like to chip in. I know that I raise the point now and then, so does Jeff that is that if everyone adds a note to their avatar to show their region and approximate location maybe even if they attend a different region it is helpful should you or someone nearby require some assistance. We're not asking for an address, as RS I have them but don't give them out. So if you wish to contact each other please use the email through the forum.

Hi I'm in R2 and on the forum. Joined the club about a year ago, not sure if I went into the register. Prob not if not automatically. Very difficult for me to make meets as I have other stuff on the same evening but I've been to a whopping two events (weekend lunches) last year!! On here ocassionally, so sorry I missed the original post.

Thanks for getting in touch Graeme and hope to hear more from you on the forum. Always good to get news frae bonnie Scotland. Jeff

Hi Graeme, Good news is that you are in the register but unfortunately R2 has only 4 Caymans listed 2 in Aberdeen, 1 in Nairn and 1 in Rothienorman. The neighbouring region R1, is a long way from you in Southern Scotland. R2 must have the largest area/Porsche occupation in the UK.[8|]

OK time to come out of the closet, maybe this is how people feel going to AA for the first time ? I'm now into my second month of Cayman ownership and loving every minute, especially the soundtrack ! The forum is proving useful already thanks to the link to the Cayman Register form so that will be filled out and sent off at the weekend. Particularly interested in hearing about plans for track days and anyone heading off to Spa later in the year for the Classic or Six Hour meetings, also any other owners in my area as it seems I'm mid way between two regional meeting points. Now lets see how this looks when I hit the button ......

Well done Mike and welcome to the forum. Good to hear that you're enjoying Cayman ownership and look forward to hearing from you here and meeting up in the future. As always, too many options during the spring and summer months but I'll keep Spa in mind. Looks as though I might have to extend my limited mileage insurance option.! Jeff

My experience of PMs via the PCGB website is that they either don't work at all (I sent one to Peter Bull and got no reply so it must be true!), or, (and I have experienced this as a recipient) they arrive in my junk inbox with warnings that they are deemed suspicious and will be deleted. Most folks either never look in their junk inbox or do so so infrequently that the email gets automatically deleted - even more of a problem with smartphones which typically don't access junk inboxes at all.

Agreed Brian. The PM is not fit for service in my opinion/experience and would be better removed from the forum options. Hopefully all will be fixed with the promised site update but until then, I'm sticking to the Email function. Jeff

Well done Jon. Where abouts are you by the way? As mentioned previously on this thread, it would be useful if you could add a note to your avatar indicating your Club region and your approximate location (County). Jeff

Hi Jon, Welcome to the fold, Club Office were very efficient as you were on the list of new members I received by email yesterday afternoon! We did lose some this month but then they may pay their fees and be back next month? We'll see. Anyone in R8 or nearby I'd like to remind that there is a meet tomorrow night at the Coopers, other regions no doubt welcome and I carry a stack of screen stickers in the car. Some of us get together for a meal beforehand but the meeting begins at 8pm.

Well, now that this post has been running for some time, I thought that I'd compile a list of those Club Members who've responded. Apologies if I've missed out anybody and please let me know if there are any errors or if you can supply any missing details. Apologies also to the Guests who often post on this part of the forum and whose contributions are appreciated but, as my original post indicated, at the moment I'm interested principally in Members posting here.
