Cayman GTS 4.0 General Discussion

Yes, I specced the leather GT wheel. Nice and simple, and comes as a package with leather shifter. The car is always garaged, so lack of heating not an issue, and column stalk very intuitive for on-board computer etc. So far have not missed heating or the multi-function buttons, which further distances the experience from my Panamera, which has both.

What oil are folks using for top-ups of the GTS4.0 throughout general running?

are you just buying a small (0.5l?) bottle from OPC (presumably subjected to Porsche tax), or something else for suitable spec (what is the oil spec?) from eg Opie Oils?

Thanks in advance

Jason

You should get a 1ltr bottle when you collect the car. This will be enough to top off a required.

Dan.

What tyres have folks been receiving their GTS4.0 (or GT4) with this year?

The dealer has informed me that many of the ones they’ve received from factory have arrived wearing Dunlops!

I didn’t know Dunlop did N-rated tyres for Porsche…

Mine came with Pirelli’s. A chap collecting his 4.0 in the bay next to mine had Michelins.

i think only the GT cars came with Dunlop’s.

Dan.

The official N-rated tyres are given on the Porsche Configurator. The GTS can come with Goodyear, Michelin PS4S or Pirelli, whereas the GT4 can come with Dunlop, Michelin PS4S or PS Cup2.

Thanks Jeff - I never knew that, great intel 👍🏻

I guess I’m at the mercy of the tyre-lottery roulette wheel 😉

anyone know what the ‘tyre number’ on the dealership vehicle management system indicates though - is it the tyre brand? My dealer doesn’t know… 🤷‍♂️
