Thanks, I have one sat in my garage that came off track car. I'm not sure off hand which one it is but I do know it has a modified oil pick up pipe plus a set of Promax stage 3 chips.
It's usually the water pipe that's modified. And AFAIK Promax only supplied one set of chips, that had selectable fuel, ignition and injector settings.

Hmm I cant seem to add pictures.

I can see it, can you take a pic of the exhaust side. Whoever had a go at that water pipe should step away from the welder.

That badly welded coolant hose reminds me of how we resolved mine, the top bolt is the standard fitting the lower longer one my brother machined for me with the spacer (center) so that the turbo coolant pipe cleared the larger turbo.

Also worth noting that if you go for a bigger turbo the J-boot might not fit any more - so you may have to re-plumb the inlet

Neat idea with spacer! Did you have copper washers iether side?

Im strongly considering a ball bearing mamba turbo with anti surge ? Which consist of allot of modifications making it all fit with custom jboot and downpipes and bracket ect.

Has anyone heard anything of them?

Never heard of it. I wouldn't try and reinvent the wheel though. If you have to go that route, speak to someone like Turbotim3 who built the 3.0 16v turbo.

Is he on here?

spoke to turbo technics and the outcome seems allot of money to me at the minute I’m looking at £1800 + just for a hybrid turbo .

Just seems too too much to me so was looking into others.

Theres a young lad on YouTube who uses a Garrett knock off from eBay under £200 and his pushing 700bhp from his shitty looking Honda civic, lasted 3 years before it finally died . I was considering at one point to buy one and get a company to put original Garrett inards and ballbearings inside , but wasn’t sure of the quality and tolerances so probably not gonna bother with that I don’t think.

Would t mind someone’s second hand Garrett so that I coukd get it all rebuilt but just all depends on cost at the minute. Am thinking of producing my own custom 3” full exhaust system within the next year so hence why I was thinking of cutting the cost on the turbo and ending the extra to incorporate it into the custom exuast?

Not sure when it will happen yet but it’s my next stage of what I’d like to do . They just seem so expensive at the minute and need to learn more about what sizes I’m gonna need on both ends as I’m new to it all, hence why I stupidly Over looked the turbo size when I rebuilt the whole engine......thought I did myself justice rebuilding and balancing it where really I should have bought a new larger turbo to biggin when the engine was infront of me ?? ......you live and learn

Does Jon Mitchell have anything?

I think you'll have to speak to the man himself, catch him right and he'll look after you. Re the water pipe, I've read people have heated it up and bent to clear the turbo. The banjo is probably brazed in , so don't melt the braze.

Think it was ally washers originally so just used one ally and the ally spacer

Message Emanuel Galosson on Facebook. Ask him for a price on a Voodoo or Ultraspool Turbo that‘s a straight bolt in and what setup you have/want to achieve.

Probably be about $1250 and will destroy old LR tech.

(He’s a Trump fan so having a secret service relative might help you negotiate a good price) [:D]

Or just buy a GT-R 35 and destroy any 80's turbo car. The 944 is old tech, I don't want it to feel like a Ricer.
