Andersen A2 Chargers - Reset & Instructions

The company who make the Andersen A2 charger, Muller EV Ltd, have gone into administration. The Andersen A2 was the home charger recommended by Porsche GB (and other premium marques), and so a lot of Taycan owners will be affected by the uncertain future of the company.

At the time of writing (Oct 22) the administrators are not able to offer any certainty on the future of the "smart" functions of the charger, as they are reliant on the cloud infrastructure which was provided by the company in administration. At this time there appears to be no buyer for the company, or it's assets (which is a great shame as the A2 is easily the most aesthetically pleasing EV charger in my humble opinion).

This means that at some point the "smart" functions of the charger will stop working. For most of us this was the timer function to take advantage of cheaper overnight electricity, but it will include the app itself.

At the point it stops working your charger will continue to work in it's last state, but you won't be able to change any of the settings on it. The best that you will be able to do is to reset it to be a dumb charger (IE: plug car in, it charges, nothing else).

To do that you can reset the network settings on the charger following these instructions:

  1. Unplug the ethernet cable from the unit (if you are using one).
  2. Press the setup button located at the bottom left between the faceplate and the body of the unit five times.
  3. If done correctly, you should see three lights begin to flash. This means the charger is ready to begin the network reset process. If you didn’t mean to do this, you can still back out by pressing the button again once.
  4. If you want to carry on with the reset, press the button five more times to confirm.
  5. Wait 60 seconds for the unit to reboot.

I'll also attach the user and installation manuals here too, just in case they disappear when/if the Andersen website goes down:
