i did reach out to Brian Bodart @ Rarly8 for his view on best enhancements for the 930T. Preferably not look to touch the engine so purely external mods only.............his view is the following:

- start at the tailpipe and work towards the engine. Every opportunity to improve flow opens up more power for the next mod
- start with a muffler, the turbo, the larger intercooler, and 1 bar, headers..............then its cams and fuel system mods (as mentioned wouldnt want to go as far as the last two)
- He reckons 400 WHP and carrera driveability and 21mpg on the highway

His view on costs - excluding the last two components/upgrades which he thinks would give 360 WHP, boost would be full on by 2700rpm. He is also said the K27-7200 is the best turbo as its designed for these engines and bulletproof

- Muffler - $825 single outlet / $37.50 mounting kit
- Turbo - K27-7200 - $1945
- IC - Short Neck - $1495
- 1 bar - Tial Waste Gate - $560
- Headers - $2395 for tuned headers, $300 for heater boxes

food for thought.......................

Hmmm .... now you are getting into ÂŁÂŁÂŁÂŁÂŁÂŁ territory ... any power increase will put a huge load on the engine, seals, pistons, crank etc .... be careful!

Also consider that car is quicker than the other Porsche listed in your portfolio....As Des will confirm, it can easily break traction in 2nd on the South Circular!........More power may not be an immediate requirement?!

Andrew .... if this car is going to become a speed machine, you will have to alter ALL the dynamics. Suspension, ARB's, wheels and tyres, brakes, set up. LSD?

The route on this car was to keep it stock, as a really nice daily cruiser mate, I fear making the car with higher performance bolt ons will open open a tin of worms and YOU WILL HAVE to address the handling. In the slight wet, I floored the car in 4th. a real 911 moment, arse stepped right out, the car fortunately did correct itself, more by luck than my quick reaction. If I did the same thing in either mr Bob Watson Turbo or My Yellow Turbo Cup Car, I am sure nothing would have given. These are both cars with a huge amount of chassis modifications to take the power hike ..... this is just my humble opinion[&o]

Ah thanks the words of wisdom chaps. I was just doing some research tbh. Sounds like I will be more than happy with it stock and plenty of "widowmaker" potential as it is. I think you are right. Not really looking to modify components and then continually enhance all other areas to eradicate weak links. Leave it as Porsche designed.

a brief update.............still waiting on the bellows to fit the front bumper....OPC Hatfield on a go slow so looking at other options but think i have paid for them already........... went to see it a couple of weeks ago and pics below.....it definitely brightens up a dreary old winters day thats for sure........[:)]..........they are storing it for me until end of March so expecting to get it on the road beginning of April for some Spring / Summer driving................

Car looks beautiful Andrew, why did your body shop not advise you to strip the pipe work etc off the inner wings and get them back to clean metal treated and painted while they had the wings off ?
I would have thought that you would want this done as your inner wings were showing signs of corrosion and you will find more if you strip off the sealer that's on there.

Passed its mot last week with no advisories (actually it needed new wiper blades ;) ). Put 4 new tyres on it.

Gets picked up next wed for service etc and then it's officially back on the road....... :)

Got some more nice pics of it from Ed which I will post up soon

Just picked up this thread (I am slow!). Great looking car and hope you get to use it soon.

I see the issue of engine mods was covered and agree you need to be careful where this could take you. You can make very good friends with your bank manager!

But having gone through 15 years of modifying mine, I would suggest a low ratio ring and pinion is worth a thought. Bringing down the overall speed in each gear make the car much easier to drive - feels quicker with no more stress put on the engine or transmission.

All the best Simon
