Yes ill let you know when i come down - wont be for a while at the moment though - so i may just have to wait until your okay to go outside like myself i'm high risk too.

I can pay for the item and postage when ready.

I do love the nose panel i may just fit it as i wont be upgrading the car to be crazy fast.
Just a few small upgrades only i think

Best

Hi H

Yes that looks about the size that I had...when you get the car you'll see where the plate fits, just check that the space around where the adapter fits has enough room for the filter you're thinking of buying.

Pete

Great and yes will give it a good look over once its been delivered.

For sure will do - what filter did you have running with the custom plate ?

Thanks

H

Well I vote go for the badge panel if you like the look, mine isn't currently functional (it used to contain an air filter) but who cares, we don't have these cars for entriely rational reasons in the first place [:D]

Fit the badge panel but leave the factory ducting in place underneath it. That way you get the proper airflow but also the look you want - it’s when people remove the ducting thinking the badge panel will be "better” that problems arise.

In fact, this thread has prompted me to make a point of getting all my old bits together for sale as I have chips, filters, adaptors, boost controllers, etc. etc. none of which will be getting used again.

For sure I will do I’m going to keep the original ducting - thanks for the advice

also please let me know what you have for sale and how much as I may be interested

thanks
H

Upgrades on a 951? There is no slope more slippery than this!!!!

The reason I'm now back in the world of 944 ownership with an S2 is because I couldn't face the lure of the 951 upgrade merry-go round all over again.

But it'll be fun and I hope you enjoy the ride.

Hi Ewqn,

I know so many thing written about the tuning of the 951.

I don't want to go crazy - just a few simple upgrades... so he says now :ROFLMAO:

Thank you buddy
H

Been there [:D]I’ve removed almost all the mods on my car except the custom interior -but by far the best mod and the one that completely transformed the car KWV3

Haha - I’m not removing mods, these are upgrades after upgrades.

I‘m so far down the slippery slope I can’t even see the top any more!

Definitely a big improvement although pretty £££ now..
Other than that, A Chip, DPW & MBC make a big difference to a turbo for relatively little money. (Oh, plus the inevitable HG..)
Only944 gear linkage & shifter is also a nice cheap way to improve a what's often a very sloppy & imprecise gear change.
Oh..and engine mounts, gearbox mount (I'll stop there I think..)

S2 owners always focus on the negatives [:)]. Touching wood here, but had my turbo 12 years and it hasn't needed a HG, engine mounts, gearbox mount or a gear linkage in that time.

Ah but I upgraded to an S2 from a 250 turbo.... :ROFLMAO: I can appreciate all 944's though - all great cars.
btw I think garage queens are exempt from needing bits fixing ;)

HG failures are pretty common after a DPW or other boost enhancement + some enthusiastic use.
Mounts & linkages are common items for any old 944 really

[:D] I've spanked the turbo for 20k miles, when it's been too cold for my R1, GSX-R1000, and S1000RR.

@kongsodoken - ahh yes the coil overs i've heard the KWV3 are amazing.

@elvado your engine is absolutely stunning ! love the powder coated red items !

@edh do you think my minor upgrades that i hopefully will be installing will over-stress the head gasket ?

@blade7 you're doing really well ! do you drive it a lot ? as this will be my daily driver soon.

thanks all

Hi H

My own HG failed soon after the power was increased to 282bhp...your's may do the same or last for years...just be prepared for the possibilty. Back then there was no such thing as a cometic HG for the 951 or if there was I hadn't discovered it yet.
In regards to your question to Paul re-daily driver. My own car is my daily driver, or it was when I was working, I'm retired now so don't drive every day but when I do drive, I take the 951, the only time I use my wife's car is when I'm going somewhere where I'm not happy to leave the car.

Pete
