North Wales Region (R6) covers a large geographical area which runs from Dolgellau to Chester and includes Anglesey, as well as the Cheshire border and Wirral. Our area boasts some of the finest driving in Wales and includes the Evo Triangle and three of the most scenic passes – Llanberris, Aberglaslyn and Nant Francon. The mountain scenery and roads in the Snowdonia National Park are hard to beat anywhere south of the Scottish border.
Places of note include Llandudno on the coast with a beautiful promenade and pier; Portmeirion, near Porthmadog - an Italianate village devised and built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis ; Beddgelert - a very pretty village with a very sad tale about a wolfhound called Gelert and last, but not least, Betws-y-Coed, a bustling little town, offering shops, waterfalls, lakes, cafes and restaurants.
Wales is also known as the castle capital of the world. Worth a visit are Conwy, Chirk, Caenarfon, Dolwyddelan, Harlech and Bodelwyddan.
We meet on the 3rd Thursday of every month at The Plough in St Asaph (J27 off the A55) at around 7:30 – 8:00pm. Guest speakers are invited to the meetings and in the summer, we take the opportunity to go out for a mid week drive with picnic, BBQ or fish & chip supper.
We also have a great relationship with Porsche Chester who kindly help us host and arrange events.
In addition to the meetings, we arrange monthly drives to places of interest and usually include coffee stops and a leisurely lunch. We also organise Weekends of The Year (WOTYs) with destinations that have previously included Scotland, Lake District, Skipton and the Cotswolds.
We aim to keep members in the Region updated through our monthly Porsche Post section as well as provide regular updates on our forum pages.
