Hi,

Don't know if I've said hello before, so here goes.  I have a 997.2 4S PDK convertible on a 2011 plate that I bought in January 2022.  Unfortunately it has been off the road 5 weeks tomorrow due to a no crank issue.  The short time that I had the car was fantastic to drive and very quick compared to my 987 Cayman S that I had owned for 5 years.

Looking forward to getting it back and doing a trip down to Swtizerland in June.

Hi guys took the leap a few weeks back and treated myself to this C2S. Absolutely loving it. Sold my 500bhp foxbody mustang which was hell to drive compared to this. Glad I did it. Got a few jobs already on the list as the tandem pump cover is leaking, so im looking at either Gundo hack or sports exhaust even decat pipe maybe for a bit more noise so any real experience invited.
Enjoying the journey

Hi everyone, thought I'd introduce myself. After some deliberation I finally decided to sell my 987 Boxster and treat myself to a 911, so I've sold the Boxster and bought a 997 C2 Tip in seal grey 2 weeks ago. I've done around 200 miles since, and so far have enjoyed every single moment with this car.

The car came with a K&N induction kit, thus one of my first action points is finding an original air box for my 3.6 Tip. So far I've not had much luck through the usual online retailers, but am hoping one may come up for sale on the PCGB forums some day.

Anyway, looking forward to many years of enjoying my 997 (photos to follow).

Hello all
I join you in here following the sale of my 996 4S cab, that I'd had nearly 5 years, and purchase of a 997 Turbo Cab

Loved my 996 and thought I'd miss it (I do) but this car is something else

Hi all, I've had my C2s for about 14 months now. Up to this purchase I'd always been a BMW M3 type person, now i wish i had've started the Porsche journey sooner. Fab car!

Hi all,
After years of deliberating, I've finally taken the plunge and bought a fab 'dark blue' 997 turbo coupe. The trip to the LeMans 24Hr earlier this month was even more fun than my previous jaunts and reinforced my emotional purchase. The car will be used for sunny days and locked in the garage where all toys should be kept when not in use! I've already had a few issues which need sorting; the pdk gear lever needs a firm hand to release when the car is hot (i'm assured that a solid tap on the gearstick usually releases the cable - allowing the key to be removed); the external temperature sensor seems to track engine temperature and not ambient temperature (I need to find where the sensor is located and confirm all is OK) and finally the A/C needs a regas, as it was exceedingly hot in the car on a sunny French motorway. I'm based in Warwickshire and looking forward to meeting up with other members over the coming months.

Hi. New to the club. Still working out how to post pictures.
had a couple of Boxsters back in 2000/2001 and finally got my hands on a 2011 997 Turbo S in Speed Yellow. I love it, driven many quick cars over the years but nothing compares to this. The grin factor every time I get in it is plain awesome. Black interior, carbon sill covers and dash, gearknob.  Yellow seat belts and painted centre console. clear rear lights.
had it detailed, PPF to all the front end and a radio upgrade to get Spotify/Dab etc.

thanks for reading
cheers
Dave

Hi there,

Not new to the club, but have had a change of car so thought I should post 😁

Traded my 2010 997.2 C2S for a 2008 997.15 Turbo. Wow -  I can't believe the difference!! The 997 is a gen 1.5, so has the fabled Mezger engine coupled with the interior electronics of the 2nd gen - best of both worlds I reckon. Complete with some other nice options such as PCCB and Speed Yellow seatbelts too.

I've fitted my NV Automotive CarPlay setup, Cruise Control and DSC Controller (all transferred from my C2S). I've had full geometry setup by Center Gravity and am now waiting for the awful Pirelli P Zeros to wear out so that I can justify switching to Michelin PS4S 👍🏻

Thanks for reading!

Not Really new, but after 18months of struggles the Carrera 2S is finally home and (touch wood) running as it should. She was pretty dirty after 18months in garage getting sorted out.. so treated her to a paint correction and ceramic coating the other day.

Hi All,
I'm a new member here saying hello and happy new year!
I've had my 2004 997 (Tiptronic non sport model) since March 2021 and I have put about 11K miles on it since purchase.
I bought a slightly neglected 997, as an introduction to the world of Porsche, and I chose this car as it's had a full Hartech rebuild but the suspension was tired and a lot of the standard 997 components, e.g. Tandem and water pumps etc, were nearing end of life so I have had a lot of work carried out the car to bring it up to a standard I'm happy with.

I've been attending the R20 "Out East" in London, which is a great event, since Jan 2022 and thought it's about time I joined PCGB.

I hope to do some track days in 2023, fingers crossed they're not fully booked.
I'm really enjoying Porsche ownership and especially meeting other Porsche owners.

Happy new year!!!

Hi everyone

After 10 years of BMW and VW ownership i have finally purchased my 16 year old 911.  Privileged to drive her every day.  Some pictures attached.

Gambled and bought her just before Christmas with hope and a prayer,, 2 hour in-depth inspection on Monday discovered some small oil leaking underneath (likely seals), tandem pump and 2 rear brake discs.  Seems like a lucky escape and i hope the journey forward is not too eventful!

What a fantastic car to drive.

Compared to BMWs it is on another level.  A go cart with a beautiful engine behind you feels great.  Still getting to know the car and the 5 speed tiptronic is smoother than anticipated.  Some issues with the PCCM system and telephone calls.  But will need to address this later?  Could do with finding a way to chat clearer without sounding like i am in a tumble dryer at the other end.  .
