Hey guys,

Anyone ever winched their 968 before? Where is the best point to attach?

Unfortunately my clutch slave cylinder looks like it's failed and has spat its hydraulic fluid on the floor, bad news, particularly when it's parked in an underground car-park!

Hi There, In the very centre of the long horizontal grille opening is a removable black plastic button. Behind that is a large thread about 20mm ? thick. This is where the tow ring screws into which should be in your tool kit . About 150mm long in silver . This is the towing point.

The bit I like about hidden agendas ,for want of a better word is asking fellow car buffs is where do you reset the trip mileage on the dash?
A very unobvious button below the centre dash vents, the same design as the rest of the static panel. You all know what I mean!

A new slave cylinder is £288, crazy price, and a 944 one won’t fit

Thanks guys, found it after a bit of exploring.. obvious really. Unfortunately the tow man didn't have the correct lug, so have purchased this one from eBay (mine was missing from the original tools: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292322478612 will let you know if it works. Most annoying!

That is a crazy price.. I saw that you did a rest job on yours - easy to do?

Hello
As a fresh old Porsche 968 owner I'm trawling through as may resources and forums as possible.  For info mine is a 1992/3 Amazon Green (N7) with Light Grey Leather, Black dash and Black hood (Option 2 according to the brochure), it's a Cab.  Like many others I check 968UK more than here as its an active forum.

It's also the first time I've joined a car owners club, I'll wait to decide if its for me or not but this year isn't exactly representative of normal activity!

Cheers
Rob

You're correct on 2 counts Rob - 968uk is far more active than the 968 forum on here, and this year is not representative of normal PCGB national or local stuff - i forget when our last regional monthly meeting was, and as we're not into Zoom we've been out of touch with our region for months, with no sign of any sort of return to normality. One advantage is the discount main delers give on parts (and sometimes servicing cost) to PCGB members, so if you need to buy parts for your cab ask OPC first making sure you tell them you're a PCGB member, then shop around - even Waymander admits OPC are sometimes cheaper than aftermarket, which considering the way Porsche have upped the price of classic parts over the years is surprising.

You'll enjoy the cab - mine was tiptronic, which IMHO really suits the cab, but there are many who think anything other than a 3 pedal layout is sacrilige!!

2008 MB SLK280 facelift, Fire Opal Red with lots of toys.

Completely original - no modifications from "as ordered".(321 > max. 255)

Hi Rob,

I have an Amazon Green 968 Tiptronic Coupe which I have owned for almost 5 years. It has a tan leather interior, no sunroof, air conditioning and I think it is lovely. I also use the 968 website a lot more than I use this one.

Apparently the admin gets thousands of spam emails and struggles to spot genuine applicants. I’ll see if I can give him a nudge.

Same here - I suspect for me is because my husband had a massive fall out with the owner of 968uk forum years ago.

Me too. A few times. Admin never activated my account. Tried again last week. It’s a shame as I sense there is real community interest and I’m sure it’s a great resource.
