Register roll call

Hi Matt and welcome to the role.

I've had my Speed Yellow CS for nearly 18 years now and had an Iris Blue Sport before that, back in 2002/3 which was my daily at the time. I believe it's up for sale at the moment and for a brief while was tempted to bring her home as my daily again.

I try to keep cars original - or at least with factory options and save for KW/3 suspension (which to my mind is just better than the 30+ year old original technology), it's mostly that. But I have bent my own rules a little and was able to justify the lip and the Speedlines to myself as being standard fitment on the Turbo S...

I've had great fun on track with it over the years - I would recommend to anyone with a 968 to get it on track if only once in your life! Obviously not that fast compared with the more modern machinery, but fast enough and most importantly, rapid, nimble and stable through the twisty bits, which can embarrass the rear engine brigade.

And as long as you keep the maintenance up, pretty solid. Mine's still got a full OPC service history. With the Porsche Classic register it's been reasonable price wise and Bristol OPC have been very good to me over the years. That said, the prices have started to rise sharply the last couple of years...

The Cayman is for me the logical successor to the 968 and though I now have one of those, I can't ever see myself selling the 968.

Thanks David, love the Speed Yellow - my 911 is the same colour. Have a few sets of wheels for mine, but would love a set of Speedlines. Look forward to seeing the car in the flesh!

Hi Shawn, car looks great, I'll see you at Oulton! (likely in my 993). [:)]

Hi Matt,
I've recently acquired a 968 Sport, my first Porsche. Only done a few hundred miles but loving it so far. The only thing I wish it had is aircon, though I guess removing the sunroof will do!

I don't know why a previous owner added a CS badge, or where the Sport one went!

The Sport badge (installed by Porsche GB) went just above the rear OS light level with the 968 badge. They're hard to obtain now, but ISTR that Oily (Pete) on the porsche968uk forum did something with a 3D printer, not sure if it was his or a 3rd party. You'll also need to remove the CS badge and re-position the 968 badge - yoy may find that id needed the 968 badge is obtainable from Porsche - and that the CS part is re-sellable!

Worth joining the porsche968uk forum as there's loads of 968 knowledge on there (I'm an ex 968 owner of 20+ years and member on there for that long as well).

Looks great, good plate too! Sadly the sunroof is the way forward although a little cooler now anyway.

The 968 and CS badges are available from Porsche, as said the Sport badges are not.

Following on Chris's comments I may well have news on some Sport badges soon... [;)]

As well as the "Sport" badge there was also the "S" for the Sport. This S forms part of the 968. As in "968S".

HTH :)

I have not been here for a long while, but I have a cobalt blue 968 coupe, owned for 11 years
I repair and make new parts for the 968,
