Witney Motor Show - 3 July

It's that time of year again. As in previous years we will be having a pitch at the Witney Motor Show on Thursday 3rd July. This mid-week evening event is always well-attended with lots of exhibits. Details of the event can be found... here and its location can be found... here.

As usual, it is being held at the Henry Box Playing Fields between 18:00 and 21:00 hours so hope you will come along and support us. Even better would be if you would be able to exhibit your Porsche and can help out for a few hours. We'd like to exhibit at 4-5 cars. Exhibitors need to be able to arrive to park infield before 17:30 at the latest. Exhibitors also get in free, BTW. Anyone like to help and/or exhibit?

I may well be available that day. Although I'll be coming from the South Coast I can combine it with a visit to friends in and around Witney.

I will also try to be there for the show. Don't live far away but going to a friend's retirement lunch in Oxford so unsure what time that will finish!

Thanks guys; we look forward to seeing you there.

Please bear in mind that if you want to come into the Club's display area you'll need to get through the gate before 17:45 hrs latest. Otherwise it'll mean parking in the main car park and paying to get in (£1). We'll be there from 16:30. Call or email me if you need to know more.

Alan.

Just to remind everyone that it's the Witney Motor Show this Thursday. The event starts at 18:00. Entry is £1.00. We'll be arriving to set up our display around 16:00. If you are displaying your car, you'll need to arrive before 17:30 (17:45 absolute latest) to get access to the display area.

So far, those who've indicated they'll be displaying are:
- Geoff & Mavis Ives
- Jason Barrow
- Steve Andrews
- Richard Franklin
- Mike Stickley
- Alan & Fiona Bartlett

According to the weather forecast this morning, Thursday afternoon/evening looks like it will be dry and warm. As Geoff mentioned in an earlier post, please be aware that there are ongoing roadworks / traffic restrictions on the A415 Ducklington Lane in Witney between the Thorney Leys junction and Witney Town Centre. This will almost certainly mean delays you if you're coming from the A40 junction so please allow time for this - details here.

Look forward to seeing you all there.

Alan.

Sorry Alan but I will now be not able to attend.
I have an eye test (Diabetes screening) at 5pm and will not be able to drive for at least 4 hours after it is completed at about 6pm.

Just to say a very big thanks to everyone who turned out to support the Region at the Witney Motor show last night. It was very pleasing that we had 9 cars (7 x 911s and 2 x Boxsters) on display. We spoke to several prospective members too which is always good news. Sorry that Geoff and Mavis and others who'd hoped to be there couldn't make it.

Really enjoyed it!

A great place to meet, a surprising number of interesting vehicles on display (never been before).

Thanks for suggesting it.
