Wheel refurb

MPH

New member
Hi. Can anyone recommend a good place to have the wheels refurbed on my 7 year old 997. They look like they're almost delaminating on the inner wheel. Thanks

BJV Engineering 01442 834169 near Chesham Bucks they do nothing but wheels and they do them properly powder coating

I had many cars and had all the wheels refurbished. The only way to have this done is a acid clean then powdered coated then sprayed and lacquered. The company is called lepsons I am sure they have places south and north excellent company.

Think you mean Lepsons?

Over on the 911uk forum, you'd be shot for suggesting anyone other than Chris at exel wheels...he never fails to impress, and when I get round to them, he'll be getting mine too.

No association, blah, blah...

Lepsons are now based in Gillingham.....
I'm sure Chris at Excell wheels uses them to refurb yours whilst you drive around on a set he puts on your car.....
But i stand corrected!!

I did get what I thought was a very good quote from them for wheel refurb & new tyres but have yet to action this...

My previous Boxster had wheels refurbed by BJV by the previous owner, they started to bubble within 2 years.

I've recently had my 19" Carrera Classics on my 987 refurbed by a local wheel refurbishment franchise. I conducted a bit of research & chose to save a couple of hundred quid going this route, plus they were happy to fit the new rear tyres I had sourced at the same time.

Cutting a long story short I wish I had paid the extra money & had Chris at Exel Wheels do them. He always gets very good reviews, whereas I feel that the job done on mine by the local wheel refurb franchise was mediocre at best.

Chris at Exel uses Lepsons anyway but conducts further quality checks as far as I know.

Hello I work as a estimator at dick lovetts bodyshop in swindon , if you want to send pics of the damage wheels I could get you quote to get them done

Which is exactly what they do for about £60 per wheel, there are at least 2 Thames valley Porsche specialists that use them
