What GT4 spec

981 `wise ... that is exactly what I found going from an S to a GT4 [:)], the buckets being an integral part of that feeling - perspective. Complimented by the stiffness of the suspension and tyres, plus the major difference in steering feel. I noted at the time that the GT4 steering felt like that in my Mk1 Golf GTI competition car :rolleyes: :ROFLMAO:

I have only had a passenger ride in a 982 GT4 which was not with buckets, definitely felt `softer` and less focused / harsh ...

Jase ... keep moving forward on those `positives` that are emerging :p

 
I have a 718 Spyder and speed bumps are ok but steep ones need taken at an angle. I had to regrade the concrete ramp to my garage and bridge the road gutter with Diamond plate panels. All worth it. The car feels different and special. To be shallow it also looks a lot better imho and should hold most of its value.

The diamond plate panels sound good, do you have a link? I may well be doing this.

 
I got the local blacksmith to supply and fit steel diamond plate panels. They are fixed only at one end to allow for thermal movement. Can't remember the cost other than it was cheap.

 
Commited now, GTS is going back to OPC Thursday :( and (hopefully) the new car will be with me in September. Just picked up a new EV to deal with the daily commute and offset all fuel costs.

Still not at that point yet but this is where I am so far: PP8VSYE2

Not sure about the PDSL plus and definitely sticking with a manual.

 
Nice build Jase. Be careful with black though as it will swirl up like crazy. Either have full PPF filled or at least the front sections and get the rest ceramic coated. Leave your detailer to take the transport protection off as he will be able to assess the paint without the obligatory 'dealer optioned swirl marks'.

Thanks Dan, yes will be PPF'd at the front and skirts. Having had black cars before I agree, just wanted something a little more subtle (if that's possible) than the GTS.

 
Well, the deed is done, car has gone and now the long wait for the GT4, order placed and build slot August. Can't believe I've changed it so soon but looking forward to this spec.

 
Congratulations hopefully not too long to your CP8 date now - I presume you’ve fallen into the “ no LED PDLS PLUS” lights available removed from order hole like the rest of us ( if you had specified them ) -see Bose is now getting unavailable also for some builds , and speed limit indicator thingy unavailable

 
Yes, lost the headlights and speed indicator, hoping I get to keep Bose though as Burmeister doesn't seem to be available on the GT4. My lock in is the 8th Sept so just re-finalising spec :) Everything else seems to be there, still on the fence about 18 way seats or buckets, going for a drive in a spyder tomorrow with buckets so hopefully I can make up my mind.

Yes seats a difficult call - go with what you decide , everyone has a different opinion and most have not lived with either in reality !

for me it’s got to be buckets in the Spyder as with roof down they look a million dollars - I’ve sat in them and they seem ok ( wish they were heated as I drive roof down winter too). - a number of people I know have put the aftermarket spacers on the buckets to recline whole seat slightly but others I know are fine ; I’m going to decide when mine arrives and I’ve driven awhile good luck driving Spyder and trying seats

Hi Dan, yes guards red at the moment :) still have until the 8th to change everything but I've never had a red one so may stick with it. I was looking at PTS but was told it would add another 6 months wo the wait time. Hope the GTS is going well and you are enjoying? I missed the summer in mine which my daughter keeps reminding me about but glad I moved it on when I did.

 
Well, that's me convinced, went out in a 981 Spyder today - wow - Buckets now spec'd up, amazing. Need to lose a few pound :) but I need to do that anyway.
