what did you do to your 944 today

You could have let her use the door Mike [:D] Glad you got it sorted, it's nice when you get a simple and cheap fix to a problem!
 
I do have a cover for the car, but it was getting a little tight on time! My daughter would almost get through the 3" inch gap, she's 5'10" but weighs nothing!
 
Got home this evening to discover my new mats from Autostyle had arrived. Dark blue, yellow pipping (to match the seats) and turbo script (also in yellow). Can't fault the quality, look or service, so I'd recommend them. Just need the car back from the body shop so I can check the fit!
 
Was driving through Milton keybes today on my way home from a do in Reading and had stopped off to fill the boot with Wine, etc and suddenly had a young asian lad in a low-powered BMW 3 coupe doing some banzai maneuvres to try and overtake/impress me....due to the slippery road conditions and the weight in the back I was tip-toeing around the roundabout but giving it a squirt on the straights.. ..as I was exiting a roundabout I looked in my mirror to see a side view of said BMW completely out of control having lost it on the roundabout, he was wearing a bit of a startled expression...amazingly he got it back, I dived left out of the way as he shot past me! He wouldn't look at me when I pulled up alongside in the queue for the next roundabout! When will they ever learn.... Oh thought I had better post up my usual mid-winter car-caked-in-crud picture to make all those with their's tucked up in aheated garage cringe/be glad!

Fitted new fan relay this week, thanks to Alasdair, and there's no more flat battery. Touch wood! Drove it through some really slippery and narrow country roads, and was reminded of two things; a 944 is great fun and amazingly well-balanced, and just how easy it is to over-cook it and see the road ahead through the side windows for a change....[:D]
 
Albert, nice to see a car being used, my own looks similar before a weekly wash, reminds me of some of the old 356 images of Porsche family owned cars, they often looked pretty well used. one other thing.......you set the 3 series a challenging pace?......, and you knew that could happen - which is why you were watching at he right time..... been there, hard to resist....., 951 is great car to do it, it hangs on like mad on the brink of grip... Nah George, with all the wine in the boot I daren't push it on the greasy roundabouts...until I was straight and that weight gave me some good traction! She is in dire need of a wash, we have just been so busy at weekends, I'll try and get it done whilst I am off, reward her for reaching 223,000 miles yesterday!

red rag to a bull.....[:(] its one of the worst aspects of owning a Porsche to be honest. There is always some idiot in his mums car that makes it his mission in life to overtake a Porsche. I'm always impressed ....................................................at their stupidity ![:D] oh and get that car cleaned for heavens sake [;)][:D][:D]

gulp...sharp intake of breath [;)]
 
Finally got to start a few jobs today. New dizzy cap and rotor arm fitted. Then a sensible look at working out the wiring for the electric aerial and radio. Discovered that both front speakers are ok, but both rears are open circuit - after a bit of searching found some Alpine speakers which look to be a straight replacement. Removed 1x rear speaker ready for trip to Paignton next week to check if Alpines will fit. Also removed both side repeaters and soaked in soda crystals to clean them out. Few more jobs to do - but as the old girl is 30 next year I think she deserves it.
 
Washed it for the first time in weeks, changed back to the original steering wheel. I liked the Momo I bought but it sat lower than the standard wheel, which for a square dash was too low! Went for a drive, got a tad sideways [8D] (It was a bit slippy out there this evening!) and covered her up for the first time in weeks [:D]
 
Took her out to the OPC to collect some Espresso cups that I dropped hints about but nobody bought me, had some fun on th greasy roundabouts taking the scenic route back!

Yes, I will have a good few days drive around and then share my findings. Edd
 
Oil Service, new battery (starting much better now) cleaned starter solenoids, took up handbrake slack, new number plate light.
 
Went out to mine first thing this morning, it had not moved since before Christmas...yesterday Facebook was full of friend's modern motors not starting, including my neighbour's 53 reg Mundane... I turned the key and it started on the third turn exactly as it has done of 99% of the last 3 years! I am rewarding her with a 250 mile round trip of Huntingdon-Heathrow, H'row-Bracknell and am about to set off back home again! (Still not cleaned her though:rolleyes:)
