AHalls_20140119_0003 by Hallsy01, on Flickr This took a bit of time to get it nice & clean, WD40 or something similar probably would have got it off a lot quicker, but I was mindful of keeping the body clean from contaminants so that the new seals would stick well. In hindsight, wiping over with IPA after WD40 probably would have been OK. Anyway, nice & clean now

AHalls_20140119_0005 by Hallsy01, on Flickr I used 8mm butyl sealant tape from Wayside Adhesives. Annoyingly, after the first go it leaked, hadn't quite got full contact in the top corner. Not sure if this was down to application or everything being a bit cold, so cleaned it all down again, heated the lamp & adhesive up, and this time along the top & bottom edge I let the tape overhang the edge a little to make a better seal right into the corner of the body aperture. Second time it was fine. Due to the overhang I had a little ooze out along the lower edge, I tried to tuck it back in, but in the end I used a scalpel to trim it back neatly. Also realised I had leaky hatch latch seals. I removed them, cleaned & silicone greased, but they have swollen along the front edge - so I'll have to get a new pair. Still getting water in the passenger rear footwell which is annoying. Last time I checked, I could only find a leak along top of hatch seal (need to replace this and headlining), but not 100% convinced that it is finding it's way along to the rear passenger floor without getting much else too wet. Time to get the carpet out again Sandspider

I trimmed about 1-2cm off my new OEM sunroof inner and outer seal. Had to do the same with the new OEM hatch seal. Torrential rain yesterday and this after noon and its still dry inside. So it should be for £160 the pair!!ORIGINAL: Sandspider Fitted a new sunroof seal. Got the panel back in just before the torrential rain started! Alas, despite lots of wiggling and pushing the seal was too long, so there's a bit of a gap at the back where it pushes under. And the panel sits a little bit proud all the way around. I know the seal is supposed to shrink over time so I shouldn't cut it, but what can I do in the meantime to fill that gap and make it watertight? Blu tack? Hmm, blu tack!
Thank youORIGINAL: Diver944 Oh yes [] Congrats on the purchase. Feel free to start a new thread with pictures and all the details of your new toy. Oh and did I say pictures [

The old seals were very brittle and quite past it (I was losing my indicator in one side due to the water being let in:
