Hello R26,

Region 10 is thinking of a visit to your Porsches on the Prom event this year, as one of our Drives Of The Month.

Can someone please provide the following information:

The number of Porsches expected;

Recommended hotels for a single night stay over;

Nice driving routes that we can undertake on the day after the event, with suggestions for a good pub/bistro style lunch before we continue the drive and then head back home.

As as you can see, I would like to rely on local knowledge, rather than conduct research myself, which might prove to be off target.... plus I am a lazy so and so!!!!

Many thanks.
Mark
R10 little helper!

Estimate for attending Porsche = 400+
Some members are using the Premier Inn of which there are two in Weymouth.
Our region have just used the Crown Inn at Marnhull for the Sunday carvery so can recommend it. http://crowninn-marnhull.co.uk/
I can testify that Porsche satnav guaratee a "scenic route" from Weymouth.[:D]

If you are down this way and the weather is clear, you must drive the Jurassic Coast road between Weymouth and Bridport, with sweeping bends and stunning views, perhaps stopping off at Abbotsbury for tea and a visit to the Swannery. If you fancy lunch on the beach, with a fish-rich menu, The Hive at Burton Bradstock is excellent but busy - although as there's a no booking policy, you just join the queue. Continue on to West Bay for a stroll round the settings for 'Harbour Lights' and 'Broadchurch'. Lots of eating places there as well.

I can recommend all that been there and done it ,as we used to own a holiday home at Durdle Door
The coast line is breathtaking and if you have the time go to Portland Bill and look down on Chesil Beach from the top

Definately get there early too as it’s a great evening and getting busier by the year
great fish and chips in Weymouth ??

Hi Karl and everyone at R26,
Sorry for my radio silence but I have been away and extremely busy.
Thanks to you all for the information. It looks a great event which is obviously growing in popularity as word gets around, and I look forward to coming down to join in. R10 had 8 cars at Porsches on the Prom in Llandudno as our first WOTY for several years and was a great success.
I don‘t know yet how many people will attend, but I hope I can get a small number to join me for the trip. I can let you know when I get responses to my R10 forum post which will be done over the weekend.
Kind regards.
Mark

Look forward to meeting up with you. The R26 gang (gilet jaune) will mostly be located at the Jubilee clock area.

We have been advertising this event on our web pages since the beginning of the year: Classics Sherborne
Reminders were also sent via MailChimp emails to all region members. Please make sure you are registered to receive them with Club office.
Unfortunately all places were filled on our pitch with some members on a last minute availability waiting list some time ago.
You can still attend by following suggestions in link above.

Dylan, According to our region members report you are on the mailing list *****572@b*********.*** (disguised for privacy)
However I do not know if you and the other 600+ members are all actually sent my emails.
The current read rate of our emails is around 60% and click rate of included links only around 10% So only around 60 members opened my Sherborne reminders!
As for WeyPop weather, the event organiser, Paul, guarantees it will be alright on the night![:)][:D]
