Water pump help needed

Am having the water pump replaced before I pick the car up (88 lux 2.7). I believe that the turbo water pump has a nozzle for cooling the bearing housing whereas on the n/a there is either a plastic block off plate and o-ring or it is just machined flat. The new pump my mechanic has has the machined flat block-off plate but the failed one on the car has the nozzle. However, on the car the nozzle is attached to the bottom of the expansion tank so I can't see how the new pump will work unless this connection should be going elsewhere.

So I either have the wrong pump or someone has been messing with the connections and feeds!

Anyone, this is driving me round the bend?

I've just bought a 968 / S2 / 2.7 w'pump and yes it has an elbow. The elbow is blocked and depending on the application you have to drill it out with a 10mm bit.

Am thinking I definetly have the wrong one then.

Mine looks like this one but without the post on the block-off part:

Not keen on drilling and tapping holes etc in a brand new pump so will just get it swapped over.

Every picture and guide on the net I found states that the elbow and nozzle is only needed on the turbo, the fact that mine has that and it is connected to the bottom of the coolant expansion tank is what threw me. Thought that maybe someone had rerouted it when the pump started playing up. That said, all the guides seem to be for the 2.5 and not the 2.7 or 3.0 litre engines.

Spot on, thanks. Am happy that the current pump is plumbed in properly and just need to get the new one swapped for the right one now.
