Am having the water pump replaced before I pick the car up (88 lux 2.7). I believe that the turbo water pump has a nozzle for cooling the bearing housing whereas on the n/a there is either a plastic block off plate and o-ring or it is just machined flat. The new pump my mechanic has has the machined flat block-off plate but the failed one on the car has the nozzle. However, on the car the nozzle is attached to the bottom of the expansion tank so I can't see how the new pump will work unless this connection should be going elsewhere.
So I either have the wrong pump or someone has been messing with the connections and feeds!
Anyone, this is driving me round the bend?
