Hello,
I just bought a torque tube to recondition (bearings, etc). However, when I spin the shaft up using a cordless drill at the gearbox end, I think I can see some movement / run out at the pilot bearing end. Its slight, but it looks like it isn't turning perfectly straight and true.
The original bearings still run smoothly, with no obvious play as far as I can tell. I am wondering if the shaft got damaged during transit.
Its the first time I have looked a torque tube so not entirely sure what is typical. I am assuming if it isn't running perfectly true, there will be vibration or the pilot bearing will be destroyed?
Is there a spec for this?
Or is this thing scrap???
Many thanks,
David
