Tool holder keeps falling

Hi all, first post on here after having the car a month or so ago.

I’m looking for some advice as to what I can do to stop the tool holder falling off in the frunk please. The grommet and part that goes into it don‘t appear damaged and I can’t see any reason other than its weight why it keeps falling off, is it just poor design? 991.1 gts, thanks, Cei.

It should not fall off. Something clearly is out. But I did have a similar issue when I had removed it to change wheels and use the towing eye on a track day. So…..

First thing to double check is that all of the tools, especially the towing hook and the locking wheel nut are fastened down / seated properly. Even a small deviation will cause the tool carrier to keep ‘ popping ‘ out. So my advise would be to take it all out and reseat everything firmly as a first step.

When refitting the carrier in the car make sure the rear lip is fully seated with a thump as you then click the carrier to the side of the frunk. It should hold firmly and not spring out / away.

If the tool carrier keeps popping out after the above you may have an issue. I would try again with the tool reseat. But if still issues…You could try wrapping a good size elastic band or something suitable around the bung to provide a more secure fitting when the carrier is attached. Otherwise any other suggestion I have is £££.

Good luck

Thanks for the reply mate, I found the issue as you said the tools weren’t sitting correctly and this was due to the centre wheel lock cap removal tool being in the carrier, I only found this out by checking for the removal cap, newbie query but easily missed.

thanks
Cei
