To Clean or Not to Clean

Merry Christmas everyone

My GTS is tucked away nice and clean under its cover in the garage plugged into the battery conditioner.

im off back to my parents tomorrow morning on a 200 mile odd drive from Suffolk to the Welsh borders and can either take my daily Ford Fiesta ST (a good car) or unwrap the GTS and take that instead, but get it caked in cr@p.

whats the view keep in nice and safe and clean or leave the ST and fire up the GTS.

??


 
Definitely fire up the GTS as you can always have it cleaned after you've enjoyed the drive in a great car. Great cars are there to be driven.
 
No brainer - fire up the GTS. Weather is forecast mild, not icy so no grit. Car is meant to be used. cleaning it will be something to look forward to in the NY!
 
Intrigued by the thread title so decided to take a look.

As a recent 997 C4 GTS owner I would be tempted by a 400 mile round trip and even look forward to the clean up afterwards.

Get the cover off and go for it!

997 GTS looks great, I had a 2 wd before the 991 and loved it.

well you all have great taste (guess that's why your on a 911 forum), so the GTS it is.

Get it out and enjoy the drive, roads should be good for the trip you are doing. I will be getting my 991 Targa 4S out for a trip to North Wales for New Year, and I quite expect it to need a good clean after that. Have a great time ??
 
Got to be the GTS! I will take my new to me 2010 C4S for a proper drive on Boxing Day from Cambs to South Wales via the Brecon Beacons. Can't think of a better way to spend the day and for the first time I am actually really looking forward to the drive ;)
 
right choice to take the GTS ; IMO
yesterday I uncovered the GTS unplugged the charger, took out the desiccated anti damp gel thingy from the interior, plugged in the iPod and did a 200 mile fun ride down to Bournemouth area . Great drive .
Beautiful day - car absolutely filthy so today's task is pre clean with a quality foam foam spray before wash and tlc.

Good choice!! Your smile will be bigger and last longer with that decision ;)
 
Ice, really like the carmine red. I am just outside Sudbury where about are you Andrew. Great finish on your paint work what wax are you using.
 
Hi thank you,i think the red and black compliment each other, although the sapphire blue was the first GTS is saw in the Targa model and fell in love with, was due to take it out for a drive from Porsche Colchester but it was returned and not available,so the hunt for a GTS followed and found this which i am very happy with, the pictures show the ceramic coating i had done to the car and still looks this crisp,I am in Ipswich so local to you.
 
Looks great. Can I ask who you got to do the ceramic and how much they charged thinking of getting mine done when it comes out of my garage.
 
thanks again its the second one he has done, i had him do my Cayman S prior to this one and was very pleased, his name is Boyd and its BR Car detailing, a real nice chap and well respected for his work, his number is 07837 757926 and www.BrCarDetailing.co.uk.
the price was £600. full body, wheels and screen treatment
