Tillett racing seats?

OT but what do guys run your karts in? I have been looking at club100 and covkartsport but with a local focus which is currently only a series of team endurance events.
Patrick like Tony says the only cars I have seen running these are extreme purpose built racers and the Lotus type stuff.

I'm 'between championships' at the moment...I've been between championships for about 7 years now! [
] I've never quite been able to afford to do it again since I started University. I guess I could have bought all the stuff I needed instaead of getting the Porsche, but the Porsche seemed less hassle!I used to race in Senior TKM. At university I raced club 100 karts as part of the university challenge championship.
TKM is great fun, but you need money to be competitive. Many circuits do their own club championship so you could do a whole championship at one circuit. That's what I used to do at Whilton Mill. Your nearest track is probably Clay Pigeon (fantastic circuit, but I was never all that quick there for some reason...), so why not pop down to one of their club meets and see which classes are popular?
Club 100 is cheaper than running your own kart, and with all the machinery being the same, with no set-up changes allowed, it's down to driver skill, not cash, to get yourself to the front. The karts aren't as consistent as they'd like to make out, but it's as close to 'proper' karting you can get without buying your own. You would have to travel the country to follow the championship though.
I wouldn't dismiss the team endurance events. I almost started my 'career' (haha!) in an endurance team in the south west. If it's anything like it was, it'll be cheap, competitive and very fun!

Yeah our region takes part in the charity endurance race at Clay Pigeon each year. Did it a couple or 3 years ago enjoyed it but ached like mad for about a fortnight.
The reason I ask is that the brainwave [] that led me to jump into racing the S2 was that over the past 15 years or so I have done a few kart events, best fun was a couple of adhoc midweek indoor GP type events where every race involves at least one good battle. I then also loved driving my S2 on track and sort of though that if I could combine the two experiences I would be in driving heaven. Hasn't worked out like that yet though, haven't had a single good battle in the races I have done as yet but spent an obscene amount of money, circumstances change blah blah and all that and now I can't afford to compete for a championship or full series in the S2 anyway.
The cost of a whole season in club100 if the costs are accurate is less than many guys are spending each weekend racing their Porsche. Puts things in perspective somewhat.

Just looking at their Gallery page, there are Lambos pictured also. I currently have an OMP seat which is fine (with the addition of a lounge seat pillow![&:])
I have back problems and wonder if these seats might make things a little worse as there would appear to be no internal suspension at all.

My friend owns Titan race seats. They have a patent on the lightest design of this type (look exactly the same). I've spent quite a lot of time in the seats and they are shockingly very comfortable. Not done a journey over 40mins but they really arn't as bad as they look. With the optional padding they are actually surprisingly pleasant to spend time in.
He doesn't really do the interweb (his website looks like a word document) but if you're interested in this type of seat I could probably negotiate you/others a special rate. Plus its a smallish company so he will still do custom seats at no extra cost in any colour you like

p.s. I have broken my back in three places and have to be very careful to pick the right seat so meant it with consideration to support too.

I don't, just run at Matchams kart track on practice days, we have 2 (100cc) so can race with my Brother and nephews, they are old and wouldn't be that competitive in a series - nice when you overtake someone with all the latest gear though.
I would recommend a go in a 100cc kart to any one who wants to race cars, compared to a standard hire kart they are like a race 944 compared to a standard older volvo estate, they are lighter grippier much faster. A twin engined hire kart has about 7BHP a 100cc 2 stroke from 25BHP upwards and rev to at least 15,000rpm they are a big adrenaline hit
Been meaning for a long time to do a club100 event for a long time, they were pricey though (but to be fair so is the maintenance etc.) and I can't find the price on the website now http://www.club100.co.uk/
(edited - just found the price £166 for a sprint race - not bad but it doesn't say how many laps and for racing you have to be a member)

The padding is minimal but they are shaped to fit comfortably, I would think jarring shocks (potholes, sawtooth curbs) would hit you hard though.

I googled Titan seats UK and didn't come up with what I thought you were alluding to?
My car is starting to come together pretty nicely so I wanted some decent seats, but not at the expense of support and comfort.
Didn't know you broke your back. Recently?

Got the email. I'm on holiday at the moment with poor reception but I'm trying to use my mobile. My mistake on the seat names it is Triton race seats! He says there are more pictures people have sent him all posted on an open facebook page. So you are best searching for that to see the seats in various cars.
He's posted seats to oz before so thats no problem but they've got a bit of trouble with a company copying at the moment. They are in the process of bringing out a new range of seats but could probably make a couple of sets of the old seats if I really wanted.
He's not sure about the fixing point locations on a 944 so will have to research but can do the atom no problem.
Ps yes broke my back and lots of other things in an accident 3-4 years ago. I was the unlucky passenger. According to my notes I died! I bet not many people can say that. Only long term bits are one leg shorter than the other and a bit of back pain so I consider I escaped very lightly really!
