sunroof problem

Thanks guys for your help, Trev that is a very useful link, i will have a look at the weekend to see what i can do and what needs to be done to fix the problem.

My 944 is a 1984 model.

Try removing and re pluging the relays, swap them over. Could just need a new one. Could be the micro switch, senses that the front off the sunroof is In place. 3 screw holes in the shape off a triangle, give that a little thumb when pressing the swicth
 
Jason - you've been around here a lot longer than I have so forgive me if you've already tried this but have you checked out the sunroof mechanism guide and troubleshooting on the Clarks-Garage website? Again apologies if you've already checked this route.

I have a similar problem. The roof opens and closes electrically, but it doesn't lock into place. The Clarke's guide looks like a great resource to look at.

Anyone else had a similar problem?

hiya,thanks spyro and all, as my previous post will testify,i am useless with a spanner and go to the workshop for most things, i am positive this has occured bacause i dont use her enough,7,000miles since last cambelt change at the end of 2009 is disgraceful but just dont seem to have the time, car running great,no other little problems just need to drive her more,thanks again all, regards jason p
