Strange days.....and future values?

ORIGINAL: pauljmcnulty

This is PCGB. An enthusiasts forum. For people who like the cars, like driving them and like to talk to other enthusiasts. It's not an investors forum, a speculators forum or a forum for people who are into waving their willies around price-wise. It's rare that I will make a genuinely serious comment on this forum (you may have noticed!) but I really am finding this almost endless chatter about values very, very tedious.

I don't know how to answer a serious post from you, Oli! [:D]

well, you could always ban him!

Thanks Ian. Here I contemplate linking to some willy-waving sites but suspect that it may just bring that quadruple ban a bit closer than I had expected .... [;)]

Sorry to buck the trend here, but I find the whole discussion about prices a bit nauseating. Does it matter which model is worth what, or whether the prices are going up, down sideways or otherwise? Really?

Strange days indeed when a bunch of 944 owners are sitting around speculating about the value of their cars.

Oli.

hear hear Oli ... first bit of sense I've heard [;)]

Does this mean you're going to be a good boy from now on ?

As a new forum person it interesting to read the comments above I've just last week bough my cab it's my 3rd cab out of 5 944 a d plate turbo my last and that's still missed. I didn't buy the cab because of prices going up or down I bought it because it to me looks the nuts drives well for a 24 year old car and has room for my dog in the back! To know if prices go up or down helps with insurance yes and will bring investors yes in the top models which are out of my range any way but I'd say like all the cars I've owned and theirs been meany just ask my better half I'd say they are hear to be enjoyed whilst we can and if i can get a coupe as well all the better for me? Lots of cars have gone the investor route look at the range rover 2door classic if 944 go that way well all need loans?:))

I'm in total agreement with Oli (though I hate myself for admitting it [;)] )

The past year has seen endless discussion about values and investments ad infinitum and it has almost totally turned me off the forum.

Lets just get out there and enjoy them, and leave Pistonheads for the constant 'how much is mine worth' threads

You'll hate me even more when you find out your sensible comments has raised you back to only being singly banned :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Agreed, I don't want to sell or buy so value is meaningless to me at the moment. TBH though if someone offered me £15k+ I'd be seriously considering a TTRS instead.

9 grand Lux. Happy days.

It might well be lovely, but if you're trying to sell a car at what must be at least double, probably three times the "expected" price, that has to be the most outstandingly bad advert ever. How hard can it be to take some better pictures, and include more detail in the advert? []

I would have thought the S2 model out side of any Turbo's to have a strong selling price.

It's quick enough and good looking enough to attract the buyers who want a lot of bang for their buck. In my view.

I have a 2.7 Lux which i don't expect any razzle dazzle I bought it for some cheap fun! and it's been just that. nice car in fact.

And an S2 Cab I love the Cab I think £ for £ it beats the boxster hands down.. as they are starting to be about the same price.

I am supprised the retro car lot have not jumped on the 944 wagon yet.. it will happen in the long term I'm sure but for me now hacking about in a 944 is great cheap fun.. as I can leave it anywhere.. just like the days I could leave my 912's and 356 anywhere... now I can't .. so the 944's take their place.

....and a £12K Lux on Crackheads....
