To be fair the rear shocks without the coilovers are ok and the front struts have been no problem, the price is reflected in quality as with everything in life, having said that I would not personally buy Spax products again.

I have had Spax on two cars with no real issues at all (a Triumph Spitfire and an MGB GT), but even I must say that KYB do not seem to be that bad (they were great on the few cars I have driven with them on from a bang per buck perspective), possibly an edge over the Spax items (I would not say they are terrible though). Stock Sachs dampers would be my choice though

Edit - just checked and mine were replaced in 2001 so still may be due repair. Funny how shagged did not make it past filter - wonder if knackered will?

when i got home i did a bounce test on the front of the car and then on the back and noticed that it was not quite as firm at the back, the took one off to check and hey presto

Hi Lacedr, Silly question but how did you know they were shagged before taking off the car? I'm pretty sure my turbo is on original rears and wondering if 25 years is maybe a good time to change them? Where did you get the kybs by the way?
