I do like the 914/6, Tony- much underrated. Is that a very recent purchase? I am sure that I have seen it for sale recently, and if it's the same one I'm thinking of it has hinged side impact protection bars? Not sure if they are legal in the UK, but a lovely looking car nevertheless.

Hi Andy,

Yes, I bought it in May after lengthy negotiations with the owner. He is a collector, and converted it to road use in the States, including butchering the roll bars so he could get in and out easily ! I will have to have the cage fixed properly. It's got masses of history having being raced in Historics since it was built in 1985 as a racecar. I plan to use it for Hillclimb and Sprinting. Should cause a stir !

Tony, I really hope that you cause a stir with the 914/6, but I'd love to see it raced or on something like the Tour Britannia.

Tony - can you bring your car along to the Race Car Register parking at Althorp House please?

Here's mine. Rented it for the first season, then bought it and its now on its third season with me in Britcar. Might be going up for sale at the end of the year to fund a move into something else. [link=https://flic.kr/p/nmKC5a]

Andy97, are you associated with CSCC? I emailed the modern classics contact on the site several times with interest in racing to see if any of my cars were acceptable. Never ever got a response.

The car is booked in to Autofarm this wednesday for some fettling, depends how long they take. I will try, but no guarantee I'm afraid.

Tony and all,

Please let me know ASAP which days you can attend as the Club needs to send you a hanger for your rear-view mirror. With a hanger - you will be directed directly to the Register Parking. 6 spots available per day.

apologies, I hadn't seen this request as I havent been on the forum much since, they changed it (for the worse in my view).

i hope the show went well.

Maybe not a 924 , but if the worst should happen a rolling shell costs £200, engine £250, gearbox £100 so fairly cheap for basic parts.

My car started as a £2000 track ready car ,but the spec has grown a lot (got out of control )since then, its now 230bhp NA with fiberglass and plastic panels so weighs under 900 kg.

Sorry - I've only just seen this. I no longer own a race car.

Chris.
