Learning to race at £1 per week was more my style, look out for Jim Clark sliding a Ford Cortina and the 356's at Bridgehamptonin 1957... [link]http://thechicaneblog.com/topics/video/[/link] FBR

Plenty of room for you here Jamie [;)] Boydy --- what power would a twin spark 3.0 run ? 245 BHP ??

My race car --- well, it wasn't mine then, but it is now [;)]

Here's mine. Rented it for the first season, then bought it and its now on its third season with me in Britcar. Might be going up for sale at the end of the year to fund a move into something else. Chris http://88racing.com

This is my 924S: http://www.davidstallardphotography.com/ClassicSportsCarClubCSCC/CSCC-2014/CSCC-Brands-Hatch-01-June-14/i-JCDCCSQ I race it in the 1800-2500cc class of CSCC "Modern Classics" (40 min races for 1 or 2 drivers). I have had the car for about 10 months; bought from Ireland. It's in a fairly basic spec - bolt in roll cage etc - and was originally built for and raced in PCGB Class 3, I believe. It now has an Augment Automotive ECU and fast road cam in it but is otherwise fairly standard but a joy to drive. There is a thread about it here: http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=758822 and a race report from Brands Hatch here: http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=832510

Chris car is 285 bhp & 235lbf with trick 915, LSD and tall first gear.......975kg.......it's getting there. I need this due to weight of driver lol!

Wow, that's mighty for a small car [;)] I'm not racing this year --- too little time and spent far too much last year, but I still hold the dream of being reasonably quick ! The GT3R is for the moment a toy --- the need for low exhaust back pressure to extract heat, compromises any serious silencing --- and it would cost a small oil field to race. But it's such a fabulous piece of machinery, and original (apart from the passenger seat !)

Chris, I know that you are not racing this year but.....can I tempt you into 1 or 2 races? CSCC are running a 40 min race at Donington on 30 August and at Snetterton on 20 October for more modern cars than we normally cater for ie Post MY 2000 cars, and the Cayman would be ideal! No need for series registration, fairly simple eligibility regs and an entry fee of about £385 for each race (30 mion practice, 40 min race for one or two drivers). We are hoping to attract a mix of cars from Clio Cup to Carrera Cup, although the stipulation that they have to run on List 1B tyres may limit the interest from the latter. I hope not, though. More details here: http://www.classicsportscarclub.co.uk/?q=node/50 If its a success, we may look at having a series next year. Come on, scratch the itch - you must be keen to race at least once this year!!!

Andy97, are you associated with CSCC? I emailed the modern classics contact on the site several times with interest in racing to see if any of my cars were acceptable. Never ever got a response.

RSR, I am the Drivers Rep for Modern Classics in the CSCC, I am very sorry you did not get a reply - i am not aware of receiving any e-mails that I have not answered. Please e-mail me on andy.yeomans2 at btinternet.com and I will try to help. Apologies, again.
