I am calling a meeting of the 964RS Provenance Subcommittee ( Northern Branch ) in the Bulls Head Lymm tonight at 1800 hours. This particular car will be discussed under 'matters arising' . Anybody with further input should post to this thread before the meeting. Have subpoenad Steve Brookes to appear as he appears to be involved in bringing this to our attention. If you are interested in attending Des I will check if the landlord has any Chateau Talbot to hand , any preference on vintage ?

Des only drinks the 2009... older stuff gone off apparently ;-) Des, we're all believers in the religion of the leichtbau here... and we're all intrigued and love a good story and a bit of detective work to uncover something a bit different and learn more about the combo's built. For those of us a bit less up to speed, do you fancy walking us SLOWLY thru what you think you've bought here? I must admit, all I've understood so far is that it has a shell that looks much older in build number than the car? And the sticker looks a tad dodgy? You're saying the factory confirms an N-GT build? Wouldn't that mean a cage in it? Which it doesn't have? And has no signs of? Have u had confirmation from the archives that the shell number matches the chassis number? Because that would of course be the thing that cleared it up finally? Cheers (WE'RE ON YOUR SIDE) Rick
1985 Saint Julian please ...... [

Crikey, that Belgian lad doesn't pull his punches does he??? "Stamps of official Porsche dealers do never look like that and there is a stamp from “Porsche†at … Motors on the Torhoutssteenweg 575. That can only be in Belgium and I can tell you there is no Porsche dealer or an independent specialist here on that address and there never was!!!"

Mm. As a fellow Belgian, there is a bit of nuance to add I think. D'ieteren, the local Porsche importer, is also the importer for VW/Audi/Seat/ and other VAG group vehicles. Guy Steen, the poster on Pistonheads, is right in that there is no porsche specialist on any such address in Ostend. However, In Ostend (Oostende) there is Ostend Motors, Official Audi/VW dealer, on the Torhoutsesteenweg 575.ORIGINAL: DSCBoy Crikey, that Belgian lad doesn't pull his punches does he??? Nah, with that clubsport chassis number it MUST have had a cage in it at some point... This at least was Porsche engined... http://2789530443231412104-a-1802744773732722657-s-sites.googlegroups.com/site/ppjracing/Home/turbobee.jpg?attachauth=ANoY7cr0boEv74zyip5nrVTJfF50sNXk02EHyVRxxNr5coSiB5G-UTi2vTR7TuKpLClfZuzTch6sDoU4ojWprQP4FLZeiwIESoeRB68_upIfOIfvyu55_jgIs3m-Vty0OriOMHxfQoQYYZsrZqATnp26y2-zQ6ZAF0O6jcAYvDDNfarqRz3pa7eAquiM9y2YPTg7o7OytpB7CWYNe45S5asnmueYGBbltQ%3D%3D&attredirects=0 ;-)
Make it a magnum John .....
I discussed this with the landlord , and we agreed that as you are meticulous with regard to correct part numbers and naming thereof ....when you write ' Saint Julian' , that's what you mean , not for example 'St Julien' . Landlord was out of stock of Chateau Talbot ( a St Julien ) but that was not the problem anyway as it was not 'Saint Julian'...sort of like 'meerkat' and 'market' eh ? So with less than 2 hours to go , he tracked down a barrel (!) of 'Saint Julian' from somewhere in Liverpool. Got it delivered , and here he is racking it out for you [ORIGINAL: carreraboy Make it a magnum John .....

Thanks John ..... indeed Saint Julien but bet a barrel of St Julian could be interesting, talking of which just of to the cellar now[
