But is it just a matter of time before we get the "Titanium" version over here?

At least Porsche cannot say they don't do red Cayennes anymore![;)]

Hi Helen, just browsing and note the TIPEC site has missed this interesting Red Cayenne debacle (and New Cayman, so thats what's in the box).
Just this evening as I drove up the A1 from Bedford to Lincs I was silently congratulating myself that all those dark Range Rover, Freelander and Discovery days and multiple warranty visits were behind me and that I had one of the best (and certainly the best I've owned) quality 4x4s around in my Cayenne S.
I loved both my Range Rover TD6s but I just got fed up waiting for the next massive mechanical or electrical failure (they look really sad when the air suspension pump packs in as they kneel from the back with the nose in the air, happened twice plus steering jammed in the parked position, warped overworked brake discs etc etc).
As for BMW well Bangle did them no favours and just as I turned off the A1 tonight onto the twisty Casterton road I ended up with a 4.6 X5 in front of me (a bit of fun methinks) but as they pushed on after seeing me loom up from behind the X5s back end went all squirmy and they backed off. As I'm trying to get the magic 500 miles from this tankful of super (god its hot without the aircon) I was happy to just fill the X5s mirrors on this occasion.
Why other Porsche owners have a problem with the Cayenne I do not know, live with one for a while and you see why they sell more than any other Porsche model, its pure quality in every department my Lab would agree (and I don't even have the Turbo nutter version).

Now Helen and Larry, the red issue. I have had my Guards Red Boxster S for a few months now and stone chips and the gunk from insects eating into the solid paint (thats after zymol wax application aswell) is driving me mad. Alternatively the Lapis Blue on the Cayenne (bigger frontal area by far than the Boxster) is weathering very well both in stone chips and insect acid (same zymol) that lacquer coat does make a difference I'm sure.
Anyway your choice but hope you stay with the Cayenne, myself if I was buying a new one I'd be mightily dissapointed if I couldn't order a Cobolt Blue (Porsche's take on the BMW Estoril Blue which I had on my Audi allroad except that they called it Carribean Blue, now that did repel the stones and bugs well plus made it 10 MPH faster. Well it felt like it and I have the 3 points to prove it).

Oh! hell you could get a top end X5 with Estoril Blue for no extra charge (see you on the beemer site then).

There you are Helen - it is possible - if you have more money than you know what to do with anyway!
