Rad Grills, another option

That’s brilliant Ginginho, thank you. Here is mine if I may: Porsche 911 Radiator grilles - 997.2 (left and right) - SKU: 997.2FrontSide - $64.99

Porsche 911 997.2 2009-2012 Center Radiator Grilles (Base, no Aero) - SKU: 997.2CenterGrill - $89.99

I did but it comes to £100 for the parts and shipping. Half the price of the Zunsport grills.

I was considering asking them if they'd do a group buy and give some discount. Just had a look at the website and the more you order the less expensive the shipping. So may be worth a few ordering together.

Hi Dan,

Did you have to pay any import duties or VAT to the courier before taking delivery or was the cost purely what you paid to RGS?

I'd be happy to. We'd need to collect a list of what everyone wants, get a quote for the total, do a best effort calculation on the likely import duties and the cost of shipping the individual orders out to everybody. Shall we give people until Tuesday and then I'll get a quote? If you're interested, please state the store SKU (part numbers) for the products that you want.
Thanks Ginginho,

I'd like Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman Front Radiator Grilles

SKU: 718FrontSides (Base or T Model) $74.99 My only concern would be if import duties and VAT negated any discount and shared shipping cost, which would obviously defeat the object of the group buy. Now, I know absolutely nothing about buying goods from abroad and the import duty & VAT implications, but I did a bit of googling and came across the following on Gov.uk https://www.gov.uk/goods-sent-from-abroad/tax-and-duty If this is relevant to our proposed situation then it looks like goods below value of £135 don't attract import duties or additional VAT, but if the collective value of goods goes above £135 then it will. Happy to be told from someone who knows that this does not apply to this situation. I have asked 'Scrounger' if he had to pay any import duties on his purchase from RGS. Mark

I haven't looked at the numbers yet but it's definitely something we'd want to understand and be in agreement on before ordering.

I didnt pay anything to the courier. From what I can find on ‘tinterweb, you don’t pay duty on goods under £135 or if it’s marked as a ‘gifts’ by the sender but it would be worth checking.

It looks like, of the ~£30 that we'd save in shipping, much of that will be lost in import duties and internal recorded postage. It seemed like a good idea at the time! How about we see how many people are interested and then see if we can just have them give us a discount code for individual purchases?

Sounds like a good idea.

This was the reply I received when contacting them re individual discounts:

The 10% would only be for your group to order 3 or more kits. I can give your group a 5% coupon if they want to order separately. Does that work? Would you want the code to be something that sounds like the group name? Or something fun? Also the import duty is a percentage so, individually you would get hit the same or more. Eric RGS

5% is better than a kick in the face!

A question though, does the shipping cost include duty? If you can keep the cost of the grills below £135 then theres no duty to pay. For Example, Lee could order both his sets of grills with a total GBP of £113 and get charged no duty (I think!), you wouldn't get the 10% but you'd get 5% discount.

Edit: VAT is charged on the goods AND shipping costs! What a world we live in!!

I like the look of those too and would have given it a go if I were the removing-the-front-bumper type! As it is, I ordered the RGS ones from their eBay store; £48 + £23 shipping + £16 tax.

I’m going to attempt the same fitting as the US ones for the side grilles with tiny cable ties if it is ridged enough (not the bumper removal) but not sure how to approach the centre just yet 🤔 I’ll post some pics up once done…

I don't think that the thicker honeycomb sheets will flex enough to fit them through the bumper?

Have we got to the end of the road with this? Or are we going to try and get some 5% vouchers?

Mark

When they were shipping three kits in one package, they offered 10% so I was surprised that they then offered 5%. It's worth noting that $6.50 (10%) is only about £4 and I think their eBay store offers cheaper shipping.

Fair enough. Not really worth it.

Thanks for contacting them and trying to get a good deal.
