Rad Grills, another option

Can't understand why as they're the same. Sometime its best to order direct from their online store rather than ebay.

So I've just put the front outer and side grills in the cart on the RGS online store and this is what it comes out with

Subtotal $272.98 Shipping Shipping England, United Kingdom $85.60 which is about £260

I noticed that yesterday and sent them a query about it. The Boxster equivalent on their store is $31 vs $256 for the Cayman!
Let us know if you get a response.

I‘ve also contacted them to ask about any discount codes available at the moment and will post on here when/if they reply…🤞

It certainly looks like a few people would be interested, even if it only saves on shipping it may be worth getting together. If there is a discount on top of that then that would be a bonus.

Not quite sure how we would work the logistics of this, but I would certainly be interested going in together 👍

Best way to go about it would be for 1 person to place the order with individuals paying for what they've ordered, then split the shipping cost to the UK and then.. individuals pay the UK shipping cost if needed which will probably be no more that £8-10. This would probably be the most cost effective.

We’ll see if they come back by tomorrow with any deals and either way I would be happy to bacs/PayPal the money to you if you would be ok ordering? 😁

So they can ship three kits in one package, so there would be a saving on shipping. They'd also offer 10% off for every three kits they ship. I would up for partaking :)

The results are good and it is great to have alternative suppliers. At first glance I wondered what the difference was between these and the DIY option of cutting some out of aluminium mesh. The obvious one is that the edges are finished off, without sharp points to damage paintwork, and the mesh itself seems a bit more rigid. Is there anything else I have missed?

They are more discreet than the Zunsport grills but, for example, on my GTS there are no slats to discretely fasten zip ties to.

Thanks for posting this Scrounger. I have put a link to this thread on the pinned topic.

I dislike the shape of the aluminium mesh options. If I were to go down the eBay option, I'd try the honeycomb grill sheet that you cut to shape but that would need the bumper removed. This just looks like the best option that is relatedly trivial to fit IMO.

It may be worth putting this on the other model sub forums as there may be more interest.

If anyone wants to see these in the flesh, I'll be at the R5 drive tomorrow.

John,

Are there any Forum rules on group buys?

I noticed there is a 'Group Buys' forum section under 'General' but it hasn't had a post since 2013 and doesn't look like it really ever got off the ground.

There are - see below. The key point is that it should be clear that PCGB is not promoting the product in any way and has no involvement whatsoever in the process. A member posting that they are 'getting one of these - does anyone else want to be included in the order' is OK. Someone saying that 'this product is the best and I can get it for you at....' is not, largely because it would open up the possibility of advertising and promotion.

The thread above seems OK to me. It is non promotional, there are clearly alternative products available and it fits the first category above.

Ginginho, would you be prepared to organise a group order as you have made contact with the company or would you be looking for someone else to take this on?

Mark

I'd be happy to. We'd need to collect a list of what everyone wants, get a quote for the total, do a best effort calculation on the likely import duties and the cost of shipping the individual orders out to everybody. Shall we give people until Tuesday and then I'll get a quote? If you're interested, please state the store SKU (part numbers) for the products that you want.
