R3 Track Day 2021

My impression from the booking process was that helmets are compulsory, and that at the minute they are not renting them out due to Covid.

You can get a helmet that is good enough (for karting and track days at least, I'm not convinced I'd wear it to race superbikes) for £30 on ebay - Have a look for Leopard brand helmets, or there are other similar brands at the same price point.

Hi All

A couple of points about clothing.

Helmets are compulsory at all times on track. In coupes full or open face helmets are permitted. If you intend to drive a convertible (any type of removable roof) your helmet needs to be a full face type with visor. Helmets with protruding chin pieces ie motocross, or some adventure motorbike styles, are not permitted.

Usually organisers have helmets available for hire. Currently helmets are not available to hire due to Covid safety measures, but they may become available by mid-September, so you might want to wait until a bit closer to the date before purchasing one.

If you intend to complete more than this track day I would advise investing in your own helmet.

In terms of other clothing you will be expected to have your arms and legs fully covered while on track. Sometimes, on particularly hot days, the requirement for covered arms is relaxed.

Safe driving

John

Hi folks

Just to let you know that there are only 9 places remaining for the September track day, so if you're interested you'll need to make your booking quickly.

If you snooze you lose!

Drive safe.

John

Hi John,

Would you please send me booking and registration details please; would like to join this day.

Many thanks, Paul G

Hi Paul

I hope you manage to squeeze in before the day is full, and we can see you on track.

I'd appreciate knowing, one way or another, whether you've been successful in booking.

Hope to see you at an R3 event before then.

Went to book but missed it I'm afraid - Sold Out

Let's hope I can come along and spectate if Covid regulations ease up.

Not all lost however as I am booked in for the PCGB track day at Croft on 23rd June

Anyone attending that day from R3?

I'm booked on to the PCGB day on 23rd June.

Clearly demand for track time is high following last year's restrictions as I understand the PCGB day is sold out too.

Fingers crossed the weather is good, and look forward to seeing you there!

Drive safe

It looks as if I may have to cancel my attendance at the September track day. Bummer, but I will be in Wales the night before so the best I can do is make it for the afternoon to spectate

If anyone wants my place, please let me know.

Hi John,

The track day was sold out when I applied so i would very much appreciate taking over your track day place.

I'll send you a Private Message.

Many thanks,

Paul Gabbitus

Hi Everyone,

Im booked for Croft this Wed and something has come up that morning!

If any R3 or other members wish to take my place we may still have time to transfer the trackday booking......?

Otherwise will let Mandy know that it’s likely will be attending afternoon only.

Thanks,

Raj
